I would hate hate hate to live in your world.

No cars? What happens if there's an emergency? No ambulences?

Buildings made out of wood... that's cool but we could never build a skyscraper out of wood....

Recycling is actually a WASTE of natural resources (with the exception of aluminum). It takes a lot less chemicals to make new paper than recycle paper. Same with plastic bottles.

Rain water can be pretty dangerous... lots of stuff growing in it. Why are you against drilling it out of the ground? We've had wells for thousands of years.

Solar panels are okay... they're not terribly effective (you've got to wash them all the time to keep their efficiency)

Wind turbines on all the houses? What an eyesore!!

Can "renewable energy" really fuel our factories that have big energy needs? Nope.

No gas? What's wrong with natural gas? Its pretty clean, relatively inexpensive, and a whole lot better to cook with than an electric stove.

Trees and parks would be nice.

If we didn't have highrises we could have a robust economy. Highrises put a lot of people in a small place... actually better for the environment because it reduces the amount of space and travel needed to get from one place to another. Think of New York... you can walk almost anywhere... in LA, you've GOT to have a car...

Why would I want a county card for paying all that stuff? Why can't I use cash or my own credit card. Why should I need a card to use electricity in my own home?

Windows will be 3x glazed.... if it improves their efficiency than I'm for that.

Ultimately, I'll chose freedom over a false sense that I'm "protecting the environment" any day.

Sounds like an Orwellian environment to me.
Keen on the environment are you?
Really?
Stop Junk Mail being sent in the first place.
Stop shipping air on our highways and reduce the lorries by half overnight. Packaging is point of sale profit.
Make the energy manufacturers reduce their watt less current by half. You don't know what that is? Never mind neither does the Government.
Use wet washers on coal-fired anything.
Guess what?
I have made all your points worthless.
Will my points happen?
Of course not.
It's all a con to raise taxes to keep our overlord's pension plans sweet.
There is no need to manufacture pollution.
It is a way to make more profit that's all.
That fact it will destroy the Planet is meaningless.
Who stopped Israel from using all of Europe's pollution savings for the last year? No-one.
Profit rules.

Wonderful! The only thing I am not sure about is the houses being made of wood ... I think that should depend on the local climate and other natural resources available. Even if you grow trees for timber, they need a lot of space. People often cut down natural forests to clear the land for the fast growing trees they will use in building. They were doing this in Japan for the past 50 years or so, and it caused a lot of serious repercussions, not only for biodiversity and wildlife, but wind borne allergies to the Cypress pollen became a big health hazard everywhere (even miles and miles away from the tree farms).Wood is beautiful; my own house is made of wood. But where would it come from? That's the problem. Otherwise, I'm ready to move there!

Nice idea, sounds a bit to controlled though.
I think every town in every country should be as environmentally friendly as possible. I know london doesnt get as much wind as the coast, so solar would probally be better on the roof tops there. We could make giant hampster wheels that creat electricity and install them in prisons for the prisenors to operate.
