Actually cold water is perfect for weight loss.

Some evidence shows the colder the more it speeds up your metabolism.

And pure water, hot or cold, has no calories.

No not at all, when the water is cold you body will use calories warming it up to be body temperature, it is very important to drink plenty of water. It aids weight loss, I never drink less than 3 liters a day.

NO NO NO..... everyone who has said yes to water burning calories is wrong. here is the thing. Cold water will elevate your metabolism and your body will work harder to warm up cold water, but in all technicalities it will not actually burn calories. Water just simply helps to burn calories. What will burn calories is your muscles or activity, water itself will not burn calories.

You can lose a little weight by simply drinking cold water. Your body must burn a few calories to heat the water up to body temperature. That's that many fewer calories that are available for your weight

Water, no matter the temperature is calorie-free. On the contrary you will BURN calories by drinking cold water, b/c your body expends energy warming up the water to body temperature once inside your body.
So...drink cold water without guilt, and maybe burn a few calories in the process, drink up!

My last trainer told me its best to drink ice cold water b/c your body has to work harder to warm it up to your body temperature so in a way it does burn calories. One of the biggest things in getting healthy is drinking water. I’ve had three trainers and they have all stressed that to me. They have all said if you can drink close to a gallon a day then do it. Hope this helped… oh and listen to your girlfriend…women are always right ;)

I have never heard anything like that. As far as I know water has no calories and is necessary for any exercise regime because you have to keep hydrated. Remember dieting works best when you properly exercise. If in doubt on the kind of diet and exercise remember to contact a physician
