nothing that I recall being substantially similar to what you've described; however, I've had quite a few "nearly lethal" experiences

Well, I've had somewhat similar experiences, however the only difference is I'm always asleep. You see it's like a dream, except you can't wake up easily. You cannot move so much as your pinky. It feels like you're dead or in a coma. Then someone tries to choke you to death, you cannot see that person for it is dark inside your head. But in the end that someone was only trying to bring an end to your suffering. You won't imagine what it feels like to be alive but cannot move or speak. Can barely breathe...

I've always found this topic interesting but I've heard the phrase post death experiences tossed around a bit.

It happened yesterday (26/8/'06 at 02:00PM) in a place called Vashi in New Bombay. I along with my wife and my two children went to attend a function. Every thing was normal till we all sat for meals. As I was enjoying the meals along with others, all of sudden I felt as if some thing has blocked my breath-tube and I felt very uneasy in breathing; I got up without attracting others but I could not walk even a yard and sat down on the chair by trying very hard to breath. I lost my conciouss.

I am bulky and weigh around 100 KG my height is around 5 feet 11 inches. Every one (around one hundred people) surrounded me and who included two qualified doctors. As they were physically lifting me to take to near by hospital I gained conscious and realised what was happening...mean while I started breathing as usual.

I apologised every one present on the function and returned to my vehicle once I was normal.

Those five minutes were unimaginable horrible moment for my wife and my relatives. Even after passing of 24 hours, I am trying my level best to recall what exactly happened to me... I experienced as if some unknown people were dragging me to some where and I was negotiating with them... Finally I felt as if I was dropped from a height of 100 or 200 feet height and some "men" warned me about something which I am not able recall till now....!!!

In fact I took rebirth-is what I, as well as my family, feel.

i cant say it was a near death experience for sure but thats how what i call it sometimes. as a kid i remember sleeping and weird dreams and being above my bed looking down on myself, but at that exact time i kind of came to and tried to wake myself out of it and i couldnt i couldnt do anything , nothing would come out of my mouth and it felt like i was struggling so hard to get wake up, then it was weird there was a huge bright light and then i woke up in my bed to complete darkness, then the next day my body kept feeling like it was frozen for a couple seconds, there were a few times were just for a second i couldnt move or talk just like in my dream, i dont know it was pretty weird, i was never sick or hurt , i dont think i was supposed to die but thats what it felt like to me, if it was i sure hope that when we die its not a struggle to go back like it was for me cause it was weird it still gives me goosebumps on my arms almost fifteen years later

It was when I was in secondary school, we have weekely session in Physical Training as the school was not well equipped with ground and other play games, our services wre used to watering the plants in the school garden. The well that fetched was more than 80 feet deep. One of the student was to pull the bucket filled with the water from the well standing on the wooden planks placed on the well and other were to pass on the buckets from one to the other. When my turn came and I lifted the bucket the plank gave way and I slipped and fell but unconciously i was holding on to the bucket which hooked on to the other wooden plank and I was saved to tell the incident.

Yes.
I died from a heart attack twice and experienced myself floating above my body on the opperating table.
All i could think was ¨just leave him alone.
My body seemed like a used crisp packet, hollow and empty.
I travell to these realms now by reducing my heart beat down to about ten beats per min and practice the art of leaving my physical body behind.
Death is as essential to life as life is to death.
Just enjoy it. You dont get the thrill too often.

See Susan Blackmore's book on this "Dying To Live". The near death experience is easily explained - no mystery.
