i think so, because they cannot seem to live and let live, themselves.

i just read a question from what I gather to be a wonderful person who doesnt follow a religion and is a homosexual. for those two things, many christians say that this person will not be going to heaven. many christians can not accept a belief other than theirs.

most people who answered this person's question said not to worry, to just continue living the life the person is living.

even if i believed in the christian god and christianity, no matter how much i thought that the only way to heaven was through jesus, i still would not say that this person is going to hell.

for these reasons, i really do feel sorry for christians. i hope that when their time comes, and they find out the truth (whatever it may be), that they accept whatever happens to them.

Christians cannot help it. That is what happens when a person is addicted to drugs. Christians refuse to admit theat they need help. When Christians are disappointed often enough, they lose the high and are brought right back down to reality and to a new truth, a truth that has always been there and that they have always tried so hard to avoid. Christians need tough love. Jesus will bash their heads in with a baseball bat when the time is right. See, I told ya. Christians, we really want to help you with your drug habit, the Bible. We feel as if you have been reading WAY too much into it. It's time to let go of the book and prepare for a new dawn! Break the cycle!

I wouldn't lump all christians together.... I do feel sorry for people who are so quick to judge who will go to heaven or hell. Is that their decision to make? Do we know all things about somebody, do we have the entire picture? God the Father alone has that, and He will be the judge. Jesus told us to love our neighbor and that we must forgive. He told us that we must even love our enemies and to turn the other cheeck. A lot of us, myself included, could practice this a little more.
By the way, let him who is without sin cast the first stone...

No, don't feel sorry for them. They don't want your pity. They believe that they have their God-given rights to be self-righteous bigots who should go around the world shoving their religion in everybody else's faces. Jesus gave them "the great commission" (go ye into all the world and preach the gospel), but over time, many churches have developed with differing beliefs.

Christians often don't agree with other branches of Christianity, or even amongst their own group. Pentecostals don't agree with Baptists, vice-versa and yet they both claim to be God's people who enjoy personal benefits from salvation. Go figure.

But one thing they all agree on is that they love to tell people they are going to hell, to scare them into joining their church and brain-washing their way into their wallets $$$$.

I agree with you. I feel sorry for them because a lot of religions are based on fear. I used to be a Catholic and even went to Catholic school. I can remember in 2nd grade being told that the devil could possess you at any time. That really scared me & I couldn't sleep that night. As I heard someone say before, "Why would the devil waste his time possessing us? Don't you think he would be more concerned about possessing the pope or somebody else of importance?"

Forgive them for they know not what they are doing. I think this verse from Bible best describes the situation of all beleivers and all atheists should forgive them and pity on them for following arcane philosophies and nmuddled value systems. They need to grow up
