you have this message in the wrong area but i will answer anyways cuz i'm also a christian and i can provide some input.

you can still not go to heaven if you're a good person and respect others. that's not what being a christian is all about.

Its true, you don't have to be part of a church to be a christian. Those are not the requirements. You have to believe Jesus is your savior and that he died for your sins. That is his gift to you. What you do with your life is your gift back to him.

It is important to know his words and understand what he created you for.. aka.. his will for you. a bible based church is the best place to learn about his words.

Good luck

Once a person becomes a christian, he or she has become part of the church... Church doesn't mean a building or a fellowship of people. Church means Christians who work together for the glory of our God. The church is the body of Jesus Christ. He is the head of the church, and the church (which are composed of christians) is His body. If a "church" doesnt treat Jesus Christ as their head, then it is not a "church" at all--it is only an organization.

The thing that most christians gather together is have fellowship with each other, to encourage one another and to worship God together. Though it is possible for a christian to worship alone, the fellowship with other Christians is also important for them to grow mature spiritually.

I hope I have explained to you why.. :-) God bless!

there will b a lot of well meaning good ppl in hell you have to have a ralationship w/God you have to ask him to forgive your sins and you have to be willing to call him your Lord and saver and you have to obey the word of God the Bible and one of the 10 commanments is to keep the sabbath holy also the Bible tells us not to forsake the gathering of saints (meaning go to church) I am a christian and a childerns teacher at church for over 30 yrs. going to church will not get you to heaven without the realation ship with God but if you dont read his word and live by his word you want make it either take time to ask God to forgive you and find you a friendly church that teaches the Bible as a whole God Bless

We go to church to build relations with God. To know him more and better. That's what church is. People usually accept Jesus Christ as their Lord and Personal Savior by going to church. Being a good person is different from Accepting God. Christian means accepting God as one's own savior. Not being a good person. So as a Christian, we go to church. It's like your saying "i'm student but i don't go to school. My mum says to me that as long as a you're studying and you know how to read, count and write then you don't need to go to school". See?

I'm a christian and I dont go to church either. Its better to be good person and not go to church than to be a hypocrite and go to church just for show. The bible frowns on being a hypocrite.

Wrong!...Christianity is about relationship! Relationship with God and relationship with other Christian. How can you have a relationship with others if you don't go to church.

ALso, your mom is wrong about "...good person and respect others..." because it's like you are admitting that by having good deeds is enough and we don't need Jesus anymore. Remember, we are NOT saved because of what we are doing now but because of what He did 2000 years ago.
