hi i was just wondering what the button that is located on the side of the shift does? im not talking about the button that you hold down to shift the stick but under that. when i push it a light lights up in my dashboard but i fogot what letters it was consist of. plz help thx ^.^

it's the overdrive button. overdrive off = truck uses gears 1-4. it will never upshift to 5th gear. overdrive on = truck upshifts to 5th gear. reason to turn overdrive off ... you want your truck to downshift to 4th gear.

(od off) means that you just shifted back into third gear. Good for under 45mph and stop and go traffic keep the trans from shifting as much at slow speeds. when you back out of the throttle 45 on the highway the trans shifts to forth gear and when traffic starts from 20mph the trans has to downshift to second to get moving. So OD OFF works good there but turn od on when you can go 50mph or more.
