im 14 and i have bad anxiety but i dont have insurence for meds and i have it everytime my dad goes to work he just left (seperation anxiety) what could i do at home to stop from cryin.

There are no "quick" fixes. This is something that may take a little work but it is possible to get under control with time and work.

1. *Accept* The Feelings And Wait For Them To Pass; They Will!

- Allow yourself to feel what you are feeling. Cry it out. Let yourself feel.

2. Learn Some Relaxation Techniques

- Try a regular routine of Yoga and meditation.
- Regular breathing exercises are very helpful:
Stand erect with feet shoulder-width apart, arms and hands relaxed downward, body relaxed as if it were anchored to the ground through feet and to the sky from top of the head, shoulders slightly forward and eyes closed. Focus on lower abdomen (belly) and imagine a small balloon in that space; breather in slowly and deeply through nostrils, imagining the balloon inflating slowly; hold a few seconds; slowly exhale through mouth, imagining the balloon gently deflating; repeat 10 or more times. See how different your body feels. Are you more relaxed? Do you feel lighter? Dizzy? Great?! This is an exercise to practice several times a day. Then, when stress threatens, the body will automatically go into the relaxation mode.

3. Keep Your Body and MIND Busy!
- Go online, play a game, read a book, immerse yourself in something else.

4. Start and Continue A *Daily* Exercise Regimen.
- go for a 30 minute walk
- do jumping jacks, situps, etc.
- there are simple exercises you can do every day that will keep you healthy and focused.

Call someone like a friend, put on your favorite DVD, anything that makes you feel happy! Don't worry, dad will be back in a flash! By the way , Internet is a very good way to keep your mind busy. Answer questions on Yahoo! like I do. I work at nite and am all alone as a security guard in a condo! Put some music , and do like I do. Yeah! that's it...

Chamomile tea calms the nerves.
Valerian can help with sleep problems.
Read an uplifting book. Watch an inspiring or funny movie.
Meditate. Do Yoga. If you are religious, say the Rosary or pray.
