Encourage them to seek professional help. If they are actively trying to kill themselves and you can't get them to go to the hospital, call 911. Do whatever you can to help them.

get themt o medical help ASAP. try to get a promise that they wont kill themselves or try to until after they see a medical doctor. Just for that time they can usually agreeand things may look differnt once they get help DO not delay. People who commit suicide give warnings do not ignore it.
