I've been on Hydrocodone's and Oxycocones for a few weeks, and now I have an Interview in a few days and I will be drug tested. I'm not sure if it matters that its perscribed to me. I need to know how long it takes for Hydrocodone's to get out of the system.

The 4-12 hours is about how long those meds are effective--not when they leave your system.
Each of these meds have what is called "half life" and how long it takes for these meds depends on factors of your matabolism, how long you have been on them etc...

Generally it takes 3 days to two weeks for these meds to leave the body.
If they test you via a urine test---3 days should be ok. However, blood tests can detect up to a month.

The best thing you can do is tell them you have had to take these meds and either show the prescription bottle or a note from your doctor. Employers can not deny you a job on that basis and you will find that they understand that people are often prescribed these meds for a short time.

Good luck!

about 4 hours for hydrocodone and 12 for oxycontin, but I would allow more than that if a drug test was coming up, just to make sure.I wouldn't mention taking those unless your test comes out funny. My experience is that people seem to think people on pain meds are really junkies.

If it was prescribed to you & you have proof of this then you tell them you have been taking it when you go for the drug screne & you will be fine...they cannot hold a Rx drug that is prescribed to you by a Dr against you its illegal

It shouldn't matter to them cuz they were prescribed to you and they prolly aren't testing for that. I'm pretty sure they would be out of your system 3 days...Don't sweat it. They are prescribed to you.
