(girls only!) How would you react to being groped?

I heard groping is a huge problem in Japan's subways but most women try not to make a scene when it happens because of their culture. Let's say you're on a crowded train and you notice somebody is behind you grinding or dry humping you. How would you react? What would you think about this type of behavior?

I'd stamp hard on his feet or kick him where it hurts. If he put his hand on my breast I would bite it. Hard.

I think the response depends on the culture and on how much actual danger I perceive myself to be in. Japanese men may grope, but as a culture are typically very deferential; in the case you outlined most likely turning around and making harsh eye contact, or firmly pushing their hand away would work. In Central America a man groping you is most likely trying to pickpocket you. Men harass you verbally on the street but walking over to talk to them makes them shut up real fast. If they are gang members all rules are out and you get the hell away from them as fast as you can towards a well-lit area with lots of people.

In a crowded area you are better off getting away from the person, who most likely will not follow you if you push through a small crowd to reposition yourself. Also moving towrds where there are other women is a good tactic; men are more likely to be jerks when they feel they can target you.

In America, where I repeatedly told someone "NO!" very loudly and firmly, and still been groped as I tried to walk by I have verbally snarled at a guy in pure hatred and struck him, hopefully making him a little less likely to do it to someone else. I was alone trying to find my ride home after a club let out, it was late at night, and the guy was very high. I considered myself to be in danger and acted accordingly. If he had pushed the issue I would have been prepared to physically hurt him enough to stop him.

I would react with a punch in the guys groin! groping whether it be in japan, sweden, croatia or anywhere else is not right. Neither a man or a woman should ever be touched in ANY way without their consent first. I have a tat on my back and one time this guy whom i barely knew lifted up my shirt to look at it and i punched him in the gut. I don't fair kindly with people touching me in any way, especially if i don't know you.

I would not react well...I've actually had a similar thing happen and I knocked the crap outta him...Of course, I'm from a family of Irish, totally different culture. And it is important to not get yourself in physical danger by doing just what I would do!
But I would still take that risk and sock him!

To be perfectly honest, my friends and I joke around and grope each other all the time, so if someone were to start groping me in public, I'd probably end up turning around and start groping them back to see how they'd like it. If they continued to grope me, then I'd smack them and yell something along the lines of rape. Just my personal opinion/reaction thing, though.
