Pratikraman is the combination of two words, "Pra" meaning return and "atikraman" meaning violation. Literally, it means returning from violations.

This is a Sanskrit term that relates to a purification process, which involves reviewing ones sinful activities, with the objective of atonement through penance and forgiveness.
