Not all human beings are selfish. And for those that are, it arises from the appreciation society tends to bestow on wealth and success, deprivation, a different conceptualization of the worth of life, a lethargy towards service to others, greed, a desire to be happier defined by particular things that make them happy or socialization into believing in the self being greater than all else.

Human beings are NOT selfish, it is being learned.
When the white settlers came in the Americas, they were welcome wholeheartedly with food, clothing, and a place to sleep. This settlers were overcome with greed, finding gold is their purpose and when they can't find it, they look for slaves instead. This kind of stories has happened all over the world, and it is still happening today. Human beings will never learn, they will always overcome with greed for material things.

Look, how can you know humans being are selfish? That's because you think so! When my friend didn't lend me his pencil when we were doing a test, I thought he was the most selfish person the world'd ever had. But then, I cam across to know that it was the only pencil he had, I felt really bad after that. But so far, I haven't said sorry face to face to him

It's in our nature. That's what makes us so unique. Humans are suppose to display jealousy, hatred, love, and even selfishness.

although God,gave his beloved son to die for our sins.We are born in sin.selfish, is just part of one trait we have as well as greed,jealousy & hate.jesus,in the flesh also had these traits but he was supreme being & fought against it. just a thought.
