Im thinking of spray painting a pink (or maybe black) skull on a white shirt that i got for free ( has some IT logo on it). I know there are special clothes paints, but ive used spray paint before and its really tough. How well would spray paint last on a shirt that gets regularly washed? ( say about once a week) would the color fade in any way? If you can spray paint it, Would you need any special things? (spray paint, primer, paint thinner etc.?)

yes i have spray painted cotton tees it looks great for awhile..it will sadely fade after a few washes, so maybe a month. Just spray paint it on and let it dry not to thick though dont want it soaking onto the back.

Better to get some good quality fabric dyes with a strong fixative and pour them into spray bottles and use that. You can't get very detailed though. Draw your design on with a permanent marker or even ink pens. Put some spray adhesive onto a strong cardboard piece and slip your tee onto it for stablity for drawing on or else the shirt will be too squirmy for working with.
