Jesus isn't really the only God. Remember there's the Holy Trinity. God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit. Jesud is God the Son. He was praying to God the Father. Oh and it's not 1+1+1=3 it's more like 1/3+1/3+1/3=1. And besides, religion should not be mixed with math or science.

We believe in one Triune God, who is Creator of all (Deuteronomy 6:4; Colossians 1:16), eternally existing in three distinct Persons – Father, Son, and Holy Spirit (2 Corinthians 13:14), yet one in being, essence, power and glory, having the same attributes and perfections (John 10:30). God is our creator (Genesis 1:1), is eternal (Psalm 90:2), infinite (1 Timothy 1:17), sovereign (Psalm 93:1) and unsearchable (Romans 11:33-34). God is omniscient (Psalm 139:1-6), omnipresent (Psalm 139:7-13), omnipotent (Revelation 19:6), and unchanging (Malachi 3:6). God is holy (Isaiah 6:3), just (Deuteronomy 32:4), and righteous (Exodus 9:27). God is love (1 John 4:8), gracious (Ephesians 2:8), merciful (1 Peter 1:3), and good (Romans 8:28).
We believe in the deity of the Lord Jesus Christ. He is fully God, the expressed image of the Father, who, without ceasing to be God, became man in order that He might reveal God and redeem sinful man (Matthew 1:21; John 1:18; Colossians 1:15).
We believe that God the Son became incarnate in the person of Jesus Christ; that He was conceived of the Holy Spirit and was born of the virgin Mary; that He is truly God and truly man; that He lived a perfect, sinless life; that all His teachings are true (Isaiah 14; Matthew 1:23). We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ died on the cross for all mankind (1 John 2:2) as a representative, vicarious, substitutionary sacrifice (Isaiah 53:5-6). We hold that His death is efficacious for all who believe (John 1:12; Acts 16:31); that our justification is grounded in the shedding of His blood (Romans 5:9; Ephesians 1:17); and that it is attested by His literal, physical resurrection from the dead (Matthew 28:6; 1 Peter 1:3).
We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ ascended to Heaven in His glorified body (Acts 1:9-10) and is now seated at the right hand of God as our High Priest and Advocate (Romans 8:34; Hebrews 7:25).

Normally, 1+1+1=3; but when we talk about the Trinity, it is 1+1+1=1. Why? When the Bible says that God is one, the hebrew word used for "one" means unity. God is a unite --Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Marriage works the same way; for example, the Bible says: "Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh" (Genesis 2:24)
though they're still two persons, right? Marriage is a unity just as the Trinity is
Look what Genesis 1:26 says, "And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth". He could not have been talking to angels here, or anyone else, because only God has the power to create. Here, we have a dialogue among the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Also, Genesis 11:7, "Go to, let us go down, and there confound their language, that they may not understand one another's speech". "Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, Whom shall I send, and who will go for us? Then said I, Here am I; send me" (Isaiah 6:8). All these verses show that God refers to Himself in plural. The Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit are God.
Another thing, have you noted when the angels worship God, how they say "holy, holy, holy", three times? Look this Bible verse, for example: "And one cried unto another, and said, Holy, holy, holy, is the LORD of hosts: the whole earth is full of his glory" (Isaiah 6:3).

There is God the Father , God the Son (Jesus), Gods Holy Spirit. which is a trinity. Jesus is the Word of God from the begining, then God created the Word as flesh to come into the world to fulfill His Father Will. Read Genesis It tells you that Jesus which is the word of God, God spoke the word and it was created.

Modalism, the Belief that there is one God, one person who wears three masks has long been denied as a heretical doctrine and is the primary reason that the United Pentecostal Church is some time listed as a non Christian group in the category of Mormon and Jehovah Witness.
For example in Matthew 3:16-17 16 As soon as Jesus was baptized, he went up out of the water. At that moment heaven was opened, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and lighting on him.
17 And a voice from heaven said, "This is my Son, whom I love; with him I am well pleased."
The father is the voice from heaven speaking of Jesus the Son and the dove is the Holy Spirit. Three separate personalities. Yet studies of other Scriptures clear describe, The father as God, the Son as God and the Spirit as God. but not three Gods one God. One in power, One in essence, One in nature but in personality 3. Some say that humans are body soul and spirit. But my favorite illustration of the trinity is the universe itself one universe in space, time and matter-energy. all three make the one they are distinct but not independent. you cant have two without the third.
Also so one fact is one of the first names of God in Hebrew was Elohim, which by the way is a plural noun. Again 1 God three persons.
and re "Terell
Level 2
GREAT QUESTION.
I think he was praying to the one and only devine God. The One who sent down jesus by the virgin mary to send a messege to the people. that Follow and obey One God. Do good things in life. I don't think he wanted us to worship him as god.
I'd appreciate it if somone commented to what i said."
But in John 20:28 the apostle Thomas called Jesus "My Lord and My God" and Jesus accepted it, The fact is Jesus did accept worship. Then and at other times.

Exactly dear friend.I am a Muslim and we also state that Jesus(peace be upon him) was not God but prophet of God.There are many places in Bible where is point is supported.
Jesus(peace be upon him) prayed at many places in the bible.
Imagine how can a God pray.If a God prays then is not God.Simple as that!"
The Christians accept that the Bible teaches not just the full divinity of Jesus but the full humanity also (hence the need of the Holy Spirit in the previously quoted passage). In Philipians 2 it states that Jesus emptied himself of the power of God. that is why the son prayed to the father. Not because He was not God but because He was living as fully human. Jesus said in John 5: 19 Jesus gave them this answer: "I tell you the truth, the Son can do nothing by himself; he can do only what he sees his Father doing, because whatever the Father does the Son also does."

It would take about 12 teachings for you to understand who God is and it is a very strong mystery but it can be understood, the bible says that He will reveal Himself (God) to whom he chooses, he decides who to reveal Himself to those who seek him in spirit and in truth, in spirit, the things of the spirit are not the things of the flesh, it takes commitment for this to happen a devout, committed person would get this revelation, when it is revealed to you, your life will never be the same never ever.........
And, then again too the rest is up to the God which is in heaven, he will reveal many things that we don't understand in this plane, because we are unable, we are earthly creatures, the question is how are you willing to commit to understand and learn the truths, misteries and revelations from above, I've known people who have and it's something else!
Just some food for thought (if it may be to you)
Just like you are one body soul and spirit, it's the same way with God, Father, Son & Spirit, read the following this is from the amplified bible, It says it clearly.

jesus is the son of the only god n do you think people vud b that fortunate to see god?they cutn even resist the son of god imagine seeing god himself.so when he was put on the cross, jesus was praying to his and father of all living, the god to forgive the people for what they were doing.so its only one god ya jesus is a part of god but not the god.he knew god better than anyone else so he was godly.god created jesus to re-establish the conection between him and the mankind which was lost because of the sin that human beings have n will be committing.

The Father, Son and Holy Ghost are a Trinity. 3 are 1. And don't say you can't bel;ieve this because you see it daily.
Water, vapour and ice are all the SAME thing H2O... but they are all different and serve different purposes.
The father, Son and Holy Ghost are all the SAME God, but they are 3.

Ur right , there can only be one god almighty , who is the Creator of the universe, he is in u and every where. It is our duty to to know what is right and what is wrong. the same is to choose the right religion.
At a certain age we all will come to know about the right religion but we wont be sure of it some people get it right and some wont. The true Religion teaches us about faith, the universe, and the ways to live.
"The true religion is the true guide to our life"
This life is a test.
the one who is pious is not only the religious person, but also the one who has knowledge about the universe and the life.
It is up to us to choose the right religion &the right god.
