Being from Hollywood we usually except stars and know they need privacy, but in my travels everyone wants to go up to stars. What would you do?

Honestly, it really depends on the situation and, frankly, how famous they are.

I've lived in Hollywood long enough to know this: some people WANT to be recognized. Not only does it feed their egos, but I've heard many stories of people that NOBODY said hello to, and it broke their hearts, because they felt like outcasts!!!

I think it goes like this: Superfamous A-list/B-listers: You know who I mean. . .if there could be paparazzi outside, then leave them alone. They will know exactly why you are coming up to them and frankly get enough attention already.

C and D list (usually TV people that YOU might recognize but not everybody does, especially from sitcoms and the like): If they are by themselves or in any way seem lonely, say hi. You might just make their day! (Just be careful asking for autographs. Some C and D listers find it creepy and out of place!)

One exception: If they are eating, leave them alone!! No matter who they are!! Seriously!!!!!

Hope that helps!

If I were at a party, I wouldn't feel out of place to say hi to someone famous. I ran into Tony Bennett at an art show in DC and noticed that several people loudly stated the fact he was there. I thought that was a little rude, and when I walked past him, I said hi and asked him and his friend if they liked the exhibit. He was very gracious and warm. Famous people are still people.

i'd definately leave them alone, i've been near to some pretty famous people such as jared leto, dominic purcell, ethan hawk, leonardo de caprio and the black eyed peas cause i work in a very popular restaurant in cape town and i think its so embarrasing how everyone just wants to be near them ( though people are nowhere near as star crazy as some people in america seem to be)

As long as I get to see them is all I want. But leave them alone, that is what I would do. Just what real reason will I have to go up to them and say something besides ":Hello my name is..." but that is just me. Lol.

I would leave them alone unless they were a certain few that I would just have to talk to. Unless of course, they were being mobbed by a bunch of people.

I will tell you now that I would leave them alone because I like to believe that. But I won't. I will pester them until they call security.

Unless it was at an AA meeting. That is like, sacred space.

I would just leave them alone. Maybe a polite wave or nod across the room would be better.

they're just human like you except they have to deal with too much extra attention which much be exhausting. therefore i'd just give 'em a smile and some space for some other inconsiderate person to invade around them.
