It just sounds like you didn't blend the paint very well, and need a second coat. When you put another coat of paint on the wall, make sure that you're taking the excess paint off the roller/brush before putting it on the wall and making sure it's smooth before going onto the next patch. Many types of paint (especially dark colours) need at least 2-3 coats to make it look even.

When second coating be sure to keep plenty of paint on the roller. roll in a Y pattern then finish with up down strokes. Many cheaper paints sometimes require up to four coats to aquire a smooth color consistency. do not be concerned that when drying the paint will look inconsistant in color do not overroll this and wait till dry to see if another coat is required. hope this helps

IS IT POSSIBLE THAT YOU COULD BE USING A DIFFERENT PAINT THAN WHAT IS ALREADY ON THE WALL? I PAINTED A ROOM WITH EXTERIOR PAINT THEN LATER PAINTED WITH INTERIOR. I GOT THE SAME WEIRD LIGHT - DARK SHADING YOU ARE TALKING ABOUT. I USED PRIMER ON IT AND RE-PAINTED AND I TURNED OUT FINE. I WAS TOLD BY THE PAINT GUY THAT YOU CAN'T PUT INTERIOR OVER EXTERIOR BUT YOU CAN DO THE OPPOSITE. YOU MIGHT HAVE SOMETHING DIFFERENT THAN I HAD BUT PRIMER SHOULD FIX IT. A BRUSH OR ROLLER DOESN'T CAUSE SHADING. GOOD LUCK....

let it dry then go back and when you use the rollers, squeeze off excess then try again. Also make sure the paint is not bad.

you have to paint the wall a certain way i think. like diagonally or something like that. you can probably go to a home depot or a Menard's and ask someone in the paint department

I suggest you invest in a new good quality brush.
That would solve the problem.
Old brushes usually are problematic.
