Smoky Links with Mashed Potatoes (we always got exactly 7 smokies)
Pizza (one square piece the size of a postcard, no crust, always sausage)
Hungarian Goulash
This was before any sort of fast food junk was brought in for school lunches.

It was crunchy tacos with pipin' hot buttery rice! Instead of eating the tacos normal like, we would crunch up the tacos and mix it with the rice, and then eat it like that spoonful at a time!
We were weird!

I loved the taco's because of the crunchy, taco bell like shells that we never ate at home, and that I wouldn't dream of buying today. I also loved cowboy bread. Does anyone remember cowboy bread?

Chicken noodle soup with grilled cheese or peanut butter and honey sandwiches. They always had carrot and celery sticks with ranch dressing with it too.

when in high school[ too many years ago] they served chili. it was cheap. filling, high in protein, onre draw back u had to make sure that there were no chili beans doing the back stroke.[ meaning black water bugs] but what the hell they just added to the protein level.

Chili con carnie, whole wheat buns, celery\carrot sticks, chocolate pudding and milk. I don't know why that was my favorite, but it was and I will always remember it.
