she was not his sponsor first of all. infact, it was she who was impressed with the loyalty and honesty of muhammed-pbuh, and kept the proposal of marraige via muhammed-pbuh's uncle Abu Talib.
muhammed-pbuh was 25 when he married to a 40year old widow. it was she who wanted to marry him in first place due to his absolute trust worthiness. the whole of ARAB knew that muhammed-pbuh was the mlost trust worthy man , that is why he was called -AL-AMIN.
and she was infact the first to beleive in muhammed-pbuh and God's revealtions to muhammed-pbuh..
and he did not marry someone else during the lifetime of hazrath khadijah-r.a becoz, he loved her sincerely and immensely. why should he be afraid of her when they loved each other whole-heartedly.
and why would God tell him to marry someone else when his first wife was alive. muhammed-pbuh did not marry another woman when Khajidah-r.a was alive. when he had no one to take care of their children he had to marry again. their children were: Qasim, Abdullah (Tahir or Tayyib), Zainab, Ruqaiyyah, Umm kulthum and Fatimah. if it would not have been for the children he wouldnt have married.
do u know that all his life what muhammed-pbuh ate, dates and if he was lucky then he would have milk. if there was any meat cooked, he would prefer to give it to the poor and needy than feed himself.
it was muhammed-pbuh who said - no man is a beleiver until he desire for his brother what he desires for himself.
also Allah bears witness to His muhammed-pbuh. i dont think u will gain anything by bad mouthing him. ya, may be a few words of appreciation from men but that will be of no use to u when u will face ur Lord on the Day of Judgement.
may the peace and blessings of Allah be with u and may He guide u in the right path. May Allah show His mercy on u and protect u from the Hellfire. peace be to u brother.

There are lots of unanswered questions about Mohammad's wives, But if you really want to make a point don't be sarcastic write your point clear and bring your reason. maybe you can make some people think twice.
By the way Khadeja was the richest "person" after her father died.
to ROMULOM by the way you better read a little history and geography if you don't have time for that just search it in the internet, there is no Arabian gulf,

First of all please do a spelling check.
Secondly, do some researches before asking such ignorant questions:
Khadijah lived as an honourable free woman, and died as a merciful believing woman. The Prophet (saws) said after she died: "Allah has not blessed me with a woman like Khadijah, she believed in me at the time when people were disbelievers, and she comforted me by her money at the time when people prohibited me, and Allah has blessed me with children from her only amongst all the wives of mine."
How Kahdija met Prophet Muhammed:
Muhammad's experience of trading, together with his excellent reputation, drew him to the attention of Khadijah, a beautiful and wealthy widow belonging to a family of merchants. Khadijah employed Muhammad (SAWS) to take her goods to trade in Syria.
Muhammad (SAWS) handled the trading very well, and brought back more profits than Khadijah had ever made before. Also, Khadijah's servant, Maysarah, who accompanied Muhammad (SAWS) to Syria, had come to admire and respect him greatly, and gave a glowing report to her mistress about what a superior person Muhammad (SAWS) was.
Muhammad's refined speech and looks had made a profound impression upon Khadijah, and she wanted to marry him. When Khadijah conveyed through her friend, Nufaysah, Muhammad (SAWS), having great respect for Khadijah, happily said yes. The marriage was a joyful one. They were well suited to each other, and were blessed with six children, two boys and four girls. Sadly, however, both sons died at an early age.
Khadija Muhammeds wife:
Khadija had been for the Holy Prophet more than wife. She placed all her wealth which was considerable at his disposal. She gave him love. She was the mother of his children. She supported him through thick and thin. She was indeed the first person to be converted to Islam.
Khadijah was not only Muhammad's wife, but also his friend and helper, and later, his first disciple. When the Quraysh's persecution of the Prophet (SAWS) was at its height, just before Muhammad's decision to leave Makkah, Khadijah died. It was a terrible loss for Muhammad (SAWS).
The passing away of Abu Talib and Khadija created a great vacuum in the life of the Holy Prophet. He felt very lonely and disconsolate. His grief was so intense that the Muslims called the year "619 C. EL," the year of the deaths of Abu Talib and Khadija as the "Year of Sorrow. "

It is called love and respect. He had no use for her money for his own well-being. He lived a meager life.
And, the majority of his wives in later life were widows, who needed his support and help. Widows were considered outcasts (unless they had a son to care for them), and he wanted to show they were worthy of being another man's wife. He changed a system of the way women were treated.

Prophet Mohammed peace be upon him has always lived in scarcity ( weather he had money or not) he always gave all his money to charity, he never had more than one "abaya" (what men used to wear at those days) at a time.
And by the way, Khadiga was the one who offered prophet Mohammed to marry her, after she saw how decent and honest he was(he used to work for her)
