There's a new trend of "hybrids" which are crosses btwn 2 dogs. Basically a mutt. They're cool, though, because you can get a dog that's tiny and cute but doesn't have as many of the genetic problems that inbreeding can cause in purebreds. There's a hybrid kennel club that will register them. here's a website:

I have a "dorkie" (daschund/yorkie) just look in the newspaper. You can never tell what you're gonna get though, with crosses some look more like one dog type or the other.

There are Registered Hybrid breeds and it sounds like that the pom chihuahua terrier is one of them. Usually it is say a chihuahua and rat terrier mix. Then they can breed the Rat-cha to something else say a pomeranian and then they can go on from there. They are designer dogs. Here is a website that might be further help to you.

i saw this one dog... i forgot the name they are the dogs that sit at the bottom of the pyramids in egypt or something like that... its a rare breed and i bet it cost a grip of money

it's not registered with AKC or UKC or CKC, they are only for pure bred dogs with known heritage
there is a new club somebody made up that registers
