You just need to be correctable, with glasses. I have been wearing glasses/contacts for almost half my career. I've seen pilots with glasses, they were Tanker and Transport pilots and not fighter/bomber pilots though. I know may people who have even done laser correction surgery in the AF, Navy and Army (I assume the USMC can too, I just don't work with any Marines...). If you have other vision problems like color blindness (can't work in aircraft maintenance) or no depth perception, it only limits the type of job you can get. I have no depth perception, or at least I can't pass the test... but I've been in for 13 years and did my first 9 working on KC-135's. Good Luck and have fun!

Yes I have read other peoples answer to a question for the requirements of joining the air force to be a pilot and it has been written several times that you need 20/20 vision. I'm not exactly sure though.

GO USAF!!! I second the Birth Control Glasses. In BMT, they give you what they call BCG's... don't worry! by the 4th week, the opposite sex still thinks you are sexy! lmao! You don't need 20/20 vision unless you want to be a pilot. Don't stress out! Good luck in BMT... 326 BULLDOGS!!!!!!!

Not to join the Air Force.
However, if you want to be a *pilot* in the Air Force, it may be required.
