In ohio I am pretty sure it is 25 and over and you must have had atleast 2 children, but I thought it used to be you had to have 3. This is only what i've heard though. Don't do something soo permenate unless you are absolutly sure. What if you meet someone 5years from now that marries you and doesn't have any children of his own and would like to have one, what would you do. children are a blessing I know I have 2 and I am only 23 and single, but I just got a 10 IUD that way I can remove it if I change my mind later down the road. Consider that.

I had that discussion with my doctor when I was 25, but she said that she wouldn't allow me to get my tubes tied in case I want more children in the future (and trust me, I tried to convince her that I DON'T want any more kids!). My sister was advised that she could get her tubes tied at 24, but she had 2 kids by then...so I guess it really depends on who your doctor is and how many kids you have. The most common age I've heard of for people having their tubes tied is around 30.

The answer is NO! By having only one child then you would have to have a health condition to tie your tubes. Otherwise, as long as you have at least two kids the age doesn't matter. If you are under age your parent or guardian can sign to have the procedure completed.

I'm sure you need to be at the age of consent, however many doctors will not perform the procedure without a medical reason behind it. It is a serious surgery, so I would suggest you contact your doctor and explain your situation. If he/she is unwilling to help you, perhaps your doctor could recommend someone else for you to consult.

Isn't the only time you get your tubes tied right after giving birth?

Usually you have to be 25 years old or already have 3 kids. Most doctors won't approve in the procedure until you are old enough to understand it. Unless you have to do it for medical reasons.

By federal or state law there is no age limit. doctors may have a age limit but it varys what if you were 11 or 12 and you had diagnosed with ovarian cancer or cists or something huh. it is up to the doctor.

Usually they don't like to do it if you are under 25. If you are serious about it, though, you might be able to find a doctor who will do it if you are younger. They are just worried that a young woman might change her mind. It's almost impossible to get it done if you havenn't had kids.
Hope this helps!
