Dude, in a few more years, my brother will be your uncle. I'm pretty sure my brother is a possible serial killer, maybe that might account for your uncle's weirdness? I'm assuming if he's lonely since his mother died that he was living with his mom. If he was living with his mother, then I'm going to assume that his financial status wasn't the greatest. He hangs with friends who are judgemental of gays and probably others. It's a classic list of things women don't look for in a mate---lives with mom, not successful, intolerant attitude/lack of sensitivity. That's why he doesn't have a woman. I'm sure his confidence is low, but if he wants to change his life, he needs to force himself out of his comfort zone.

Anyone who mocks anyone, whether they be gay,lesbian,or different, may have a problem with esteem. And in some instances, putting people down seems to make them feel better about themselves, ( a horrible truth). And as for your question about why your uncle has not found someone, maybe he is not looking in the right place. There are women out there who are not shallow, so looks would not really matter, as long as he would treat them good, make them feel special, and cared about and loved. Where exactly is he trying to look for someone?

we all know guys like this. I believe they never past growing up past junior high school. They have low self esteem and maybe very insecurity about their sexuality. Thus they cut down gays....so that them selves feel more power. It is very sad to see people like this. I am not sure why it happens. I have seen one thing in common and ofter it is the youngest boy in the family. Who continued to be the pampered baby, aka mommies boy.
There are some guys with low sex drive that don't know how to fit in the world.
It reminds me of the old TV program Cheers.......where Norn and the other guy sit and drink and never reallly grew up.
Maybe they all have extreem cases of ADD

Well if he mocks gays does he do this in a public way.. does he act in a way that would turn off women? Maybe this is why he is unable to find someone. It may be a confidence issue... not knowing much about him it would be hard to say.

Most often, people who mock gays are insecure with their gender identity. They do this to over compensate for the fear of being discovered by themselves or others. A man comfortable with his sexuality has no issues with gays. Perhaps his confidence is low or maybe he is conflicted about his sexual desires.

maybe the married life just isnt his cup of tea. I know alot of guys that mock gays and trust me there very secure with there sexual preference. Living in small town usa 99% rednecks your going to find alot of mocking going on about several different things. I dont know where you live but thats how it is here.

Are the friends he hangs out with reputably gay? If he is not gay, maybe he is trying to justify his being single is not because he is gay. He could be shy, or because he was tending his mother, or never found someone worthy of the work it woud take to "woo" her. I think you should love him for who he is and not judge him for what he is not. All of us need all the genuine love from family & friends we can get.

It may be that his confidence is low or maybe he doesn't want to be tied down or maybe he just hasn't found the right woman or maybe his mother had him too spoiled for a woman to deal with.

mocking gays might not be the most attractive trait for a man to have--that might be why women arent breaking down his door--he needs to choose a different class of friends
