I guess i phrased this wrong -- can anyone translate the word "fairy tale" in other languages?

In german fairy tale = Märchen
Folk tale = Volksmärchen
fable = Fabel

In Polish:

"fairy tale" = "bajka" or "baśń"

"folk tale" = "przypowieść ludowa" ("ludowa" is "folk" - the order of words in Polish is sometimes different from the English one)

"fable" = "bajka" or "legenda"

fairy tale=παραμύθι(paramithi)
folk tale=fable=μύθος, παραμύθι(mithos, paramithi)

in German fairy tale=Märchen, folk tale=Volksmärchen fable=Fabel
in French fairy tale=conte, folk tales= contes populaires, fable=fable

Fairy Tale in German is 'das Märchen' or 'das Maerchen' both are correct, the second is the spelling without a German keyboard.
