Computer have few distinct parts - Motherboard, hard Disks, Floppy Drive, CD Drive, Key Board, Mouse, Monitor etc. All these items which I have mentioned above are distinct in nature. They are working seperatly. If any one goes unserviceable, it does not effect the operation of others. Once you replace the faulty one, other will start working normal.

My bf read your question with me. He knows a lot about computer stuff. He says that you shouldn't lose anything from off your hard drive whenever you replace the motherboard.

No! The hard drive will still have the data. Unplug it and replace the motherboard, its easy.

Not if the motherboard was the only thing that failed. If it was something like a power surge that caused the motherboard to fail, then it's possible more things were damaged.

Nope all your info will be there and get the motherboard off ebay unless u have a warranty....that sounds like a dell!

no u will not lose any information cause ur only changing your mother board so all the information will be set in the hard drive waiting for u ..
