Assalamualykum brother in Islam, what one of our brothers said based on Surah Al-Baqarah of The Qur'an is also my answer and I'll just support his statement. And please brother, here at Yahoo! Answer expect negative and positive answer u must be aware of this for u can't stop peoples rights and freedom of the press. Ignore those who see Islam as a bad religion becoz of what they know and see through the media and the press.Remember, this has been decreed by Allah SWT before u and I are created that Islam must have a reason to stand and propagate and these are some. So please Bear with it! I feel sorry for you but nowadays this is reality.
Going back to ur question, yes I'm willing to enlight somehow as far as I know in Islam. Allah (SWT) created us here on Earth for a single purpose, to worship him and be his slave, to do what he willed us to do, this is based on the Qur'an. Islam is the total submission to the will of Allah! and as Muslim we must lived up to this decree. BAsed from the Qur'an, before we are sent here on Earth Allah(SWT) asked us all, (we are souls(ruh)) to witness his power over all of us.Allah SWT asked us: "Who is your Lord?", We humans and jinn replied, "You and only you is our lord". In Islam, human beings are born as muslims, but becoz of external factors like family and environment we forget that Allah SWT sent us here as muslims. Therefore some of us become non-muslim of other religions. As muslims our mission here on Earth is in the Shahadah itself: "I bear witness that there is no God but Allah and that Muhammad (PBUH) is the messenger of Allah". In the first part, we believe that Allah exists and is our only God and is our creator and to him is our return now thats our first part of our mission to know who created us so that we will know who we are and why are we here. After we know Allah and believe in him, we are now prepared to follow his will, that is, the second part of the Shahadah, Muhammad (PBUH) is the messenger of Allah, to prove that we are really eager to follow his will he sent prophets to us and before us. The teachings of prophets Noah until Jesus (PBUT) is summed up and finalized by Prophet Muhammad PBUH. Allah SWT ordered us to follow the teachings and ways of Prophet Muhammad PBUH in his whole life. Prophet Muhammad PBUH left us with two great guidance to follow so that we will never go astray and fulfill our mission to Allah SWT,that is, The Holy Qur'an and The Sunnah or Examples of Prophet Muhammad SAW. Allah infromed us through prophet Muhammad SAW that this world is full of evil and deciet becoz Iblis(Satan) is the one tempting us to do bad. So in case we loose our path to guidance Allah sWT through prophet Muhammad SAW obliged us to return to the Qur'an and the Sunnah of Prophet Muhammad. Moreover, if we muslims survive all the test that Allah has given us and has righteously seeked the guidance of the Qur'an and the Sunnah of Prophet Muhammad SAW in every test until the end of our lives, then my brothers, our mission is fulfilled and thus the reward is Paradise (Jannah). And if we muslims fail our mission then we join the ever-happy Iblis(Satan) in Hell (Jahannam). So just a reminder to all muslims who have problems and in-trouble go back to The Qur'an and the Prophets HAdith for you have just forgotten it due to our engagement in this ever evil and decietful world.
We are created by Allah for one purpose to worship him and nothing more, He wants us to know that he is Allah, the Supreme, All-Knowing, All-Hearing and All-seeing, The most compassionate and the most merciful. And that we are just mere creations of his, just like the angels, devils, and the jinns to serve him as we are just mere slaves of him. Allah created us and given us free-will and the power to choose, but He never-ever made us astray becoz he sent guidance to mankind and to the jinns alike in the guidance of the Qur'an and the Hadith of prophet Muhammad SAW. Allah is All-Wise and his Wisdom can't be measured by our mere thinking, we can't question him and has no right to do so, but he gave us tests, to make us remember him and to make us realize to go and pray to him and ask forgiveness.
We are given free will so that we can use our power to choose, our reason , our thinking which was deprived off to Angels. Thats why we as mankind are the highest creations of Allah SWT and he even let the angels prostrate before us through prophet ADAM PBUH to prove that we are of his most unique creations. Are we not then thankful to Allah SWT? Allah SWT let us know through the 2 guidance that using our freewill to fulfill his will before us would earn us his ultimate reward, and that we also know that using our freewill to fulfill our lust and evil desires and wrong-doings would earn us his ultimate wrath. We make sins becoz we are humans and bound to be sinners so that we can ask for Allah's Forgiveness and thus again realizing him as our God and we have a mission to fulfill here on Earth. Allah SWT will not stop us or interfere us from doing bad or good here on Earth becoz he decreed this two paths so we can choose between them, but he can give guidance. Finally, I leave you with this hadith of prophet Muhammad PBUH: "Allah will not change the condition of the people unless they themselves change". (Bukhari)
Sorry Brother becoz its very long! But As I said I am willing to enlight you and share to u something I know about Islam. So Seek Knowledge my Brothers even in the most hard and possible ways. Knowledge is one key to our success here on Earth and fulfill our mission to Allah SWT.Thank You! Fiy amanillah! May Allah SWT grant us peace!

Allah is the one and the only Creator and Sustainer of this entire universe. He has sent the same message through all His Messengers from Adam to Moses to Jesus to His last Prophet Muhammad (may peace be on all of them). The difference between Angels and us humans is that we have the freedom or the power to choose whichever path we want to pursue. Allah has given us the ability to choose what we want to do. It's up to us to follow the right path which means accepting Allah as our Master and Lord, obey His Commands in everything we do, establish prayers individually as well as in the community as a whole, also believe in Quran and all other Books that were sent down by Him prior to Quran (i.e. Torah, Psalms, and Bible), and believe in the day of judgment when every soul shall be held accountable for their bad deeds and rewarded for their good deeds. Allah can do anything he wills; he could have made every body good if he wanted to but that was not His intent. He wanted all human beings to do good deeds with the freedom to choose. This life is only a transition from this world to the next world, we should do everything to fulfill the commands of Allah SWT especially never kill an innocent person because this is one of the highest crimes to take the life of another human being,

He knew we wouldn't be happy without free will, so on top of what He made us to be what we are(and we are one of a kind--no one else, and nothing else like us), yet look at what we're doing? All we need to do is have simple gratitude--what we were given was a gift! It gets misspent, misused. ......??? I was not raised in the Islam faith (catholic), but am now old enough wise enough to know this. It's man's doing that made one faith, or reality, get branched out into so many beliefs. I believe there is only one God, and man has complicated the issue. You are right in asking this--this question is for everyone. If you don't mind me saying this.
