Why do people not want to read the word of God which is the bible (which was written by the chosen apostles directed by the Holy Spirit). because they claim it was written by man. yet they are more willing to read internet sites, listen to lying people, and other fake things where they can be sure that it was ABSOLUTELY created by man? (evil carnal men who are under evil influence of ignorance)

As for the negative things that people rip from the old testament, the old covenant was done away with when Jesus was finished with his work.

Mmmm....hmmmm...I'm trying to discern a point in all of this...so while criticizing people for believing what they're told, simply on the basis that they're being told, you're suggesting that they should believe that God exists, and the bible is the word of God, because some people, like you, say so? Got it, this is hypocrisy squared.

Well for starters, the bible is the driest read since ink was put to paper, and yes I have read it. Secondly, you can take pretty much anything you want from it out of context and use it in an argument. And Thirdly, the original text has been rewritten and translated so many times that it is hard to believe the original words were not changed to the liking of certain individuals (like King James who disliked women and removed all mention of Jesus's younger brother and sister so Mary would remain a virgin)

I enjoying reading a book that allows you to question it. Bible you are just suppose to believe in it. Where is the learning? Why must we accept what we are told? How on earth do you grow like that? the only way to become smarter is by questioning everything. And when you read the bible and question it - you realize it is the oldest book of fiction around.

Steven says the Bible does not mention Jesus' younger brother and sister.Obviously he has never read the Bible, because it clearly says that Mary and Joseph had other sons and daughters (plural).It also refers to His brothers and sisters.
This is typical of non believers bash something you have no clue of .

Maybe because there are far more important not to mention more entertaining written works to read than a collection of nonsense stories written by men millenia ago and have been translated and corrupted countless times since then.

And what proof do we have that it's The Word of God? Oh, yes because it says so right in the book, that's why!
Well, I'm here to tell you, The Flying Spaghetti Monster also claims to be God, and has His own Scripture in which He claims His Word is true. So I'm confused.

I've read it, and can understand why you would not want to. It's full of inconsistancies, and atrocities, and other such. And as a book, it is completely unentertaining. I would rather read a book of today, which is also made by Man, because today there are standards you must meet, which I don't believe the Bible would.
