How long should I wait before I ask for her hand? she is my life and i have had several bad and good ones but i just felt an almost instant connection.

my husband waited 3 months and my friend's parents waited three weeks. You really cannot put a time frame on when to ask. The tradtion is to wait 2 years then ask her.

Probably you can ask her to a dinner and a walk in a park or anywhere romantic. If she accepts the invitation, you can ask for her hand when walking.
In my opinion, it's good to hold her hand on the second date, so she also "waits" for the time and wonders "Why don't you hold my hand?"
Like food, you will feel tastier if you're hungry.

As soon as you know, go out and get that ring!! Better yet, invite her to go with you and pick something out together, then wait another few months and propose!
