The normal gestation period is sixty-three days, but many Chihuahuas have their puppies two or three days earlier. Puppies can survive as early as the 57th day, and as late as the 72st day, but if a female has not had her puppies by the 63rd day always inform your Vet. Also make sure you let your Vet know a week before she is due to whelp, incase you need their services. If it is the first time that you have whelped a Chihuahua, then I strongly suggest that you arrange for your Vet to attend, or another experienced breeder. This way you can be taught exactly what to do and, more importantly, what NOT to do. NO Chihuahua female should ever be allowed to whelp by herself. Even with my years experience I always make sure I have someone else there to assist me. Two pairs of hands are needed, one to attend the *****, and one to deal with any puppies that may be in trouble when they are born.
Make notes of the various stages, so that the next time you breed her, you will have the information handy. They usually follow the same pattern each time. The wise breeder enters up for each girl the details about the mating, whelping, and when the next season is due. A female generally comes into season again four months after the birth of her puppies. Pregnancy, also called the gestation period, ranges from 60 to 67 days, averaging 63 days. Most dogs deliver (whelp) between days 63 and 65. My advise to you is to call your vet and let him/her know and see what he/she thinks. Hope i was of help to you

Is it 63 days from the first breeding or last? Has she been checked by the Vet to see how many pups are there, if any?
I ask only because Chihuahua's often have problems delivering the pups. Is she behaving ok. Have you checked her temperature. Temp usually drops below 100 within 24 hours of whelping.

They can go over a couple of days with no problem. If the pups haven't arrived by Monday, maybe take her and let the vet check her out.
