Jacob formed an alliance with WWE and get them all to wrestled with the angel and make it realize that it knows what the ROCK is cooking!!!

#1 the angel was the pre-incarnate Jesus.Jacob says later "I saw God face to face and my life is preserved"The bible say:No man has seen God at any time,the Son of God reveals God to man.
The reason God did this was to finally get Jacob to put his whole faith in Him.Before this Jacob would never call Him his God,he would say "The God of my father Issac",or the God of Abraham.and he would try to get out of problems by his own deceptive ways(hence the name Jacob which means 'supplanter' or heel catcher,sneaky')When he finally submitted then he got the name Israel"Prince with God"almost always he would rely on God and God's will after that.As for the angel of the Lord,he let Jacob hold Him for His purposes.
