one of my lecturers said that girls with shorter hair are usually brighter.. i think shes sayin that cus she has short hair and its plain dum. what do u guys think?

She is showing how ignorant she is by believing a stereotype.
Yes, there are plenty of "smart" women in this world who keep their hair short because long requires so much work to style and the upkeep on shorter hair is easier than longer. Yes, there are many professional women who just don't have the time and/or energy to take care of long hair. They see it as a waste to even try. Yes, there are women who are very bright who keep their hair short so it doesn't interfere with their work as doctors, lawyers, scientists, etc... Having to brush hair out of your face can be a real distraction.
HOWEVER
There are plenty of women who are stupid with short hair. There are plenty of women with long hair that are very intelligent. It's a false generalization, kind of like the dumb blonde, the dumb jock, the smart nerd, the smart Asian, etc... If we were all judged by these stereotypes, then the world would be a sad place indeed.

There is no scientific proof that length of hair has an effect on intelligence. Where did your lecturer get this notion from? Tell her, her hair is short and she doesn't appeared to be bright. Or tell her that you'll cut your hair short and make sure she give you good grades :-)

I dont belive this to be true, but if you think about it it could mean. If a woman isnt worried about her hair, spending alot of time on syling it and combing her long locks maybe she spends more time reading, or thinking. hummm somthing to think about, and by the way if i were you, i would have every girl in the class find a wig, (long of course) and go to class with it on. You might even convience some of the male gender to do it. maybe the instructor will think twice about what she spurts out of her mouth.

That's just crazy.
Your hair is your own personal preference. My hair by the way is long. I don't see how your hair has anything to do with how smart a person is.

That's completely crazy...you're hair has nothing to do with how smart you are. You could have the longest hair in the world and be the smartest. She'd just being dumb...

I can't see why that would be true. Maybe she was hinting that the girls with better grades didn't have to fuss with their hair so they had more time to study? I don't know, that sounds dumb, too.
