WOW, I'm glad some of these people don't work in my bar...lol... A standard shot is 1 oz. some bars may have larger or smaller sized shot glasses to make you believe your getting an ounce. I am aware of one bar in my area that uses 5/8th oz shot glasses... As to drinks it depends on the recipe for example Long Islands should only have 2 1/2 ounces of actual liquor and a Jager bomb should only have 1 ounce so it really depends on the drink..Hope that helps if your not sure check out WWW.Webtender.com

A shot (or jigger) typically contains 1.5 ounces at a bar. At home it can be anything you want it to be ; my shots were always at least a "double" 3 - 4 oz. A one ounce "shot" is really called a "pony".
