Without the presence of good thee can be no evil.
Without the presence of evil there can be no good.
If one were destroyed then the other would start on a downward spiral.
That is the basic principal of life. It's not about good or evil, hot or cold, up or down. It is balance and without it, chaos is soon to follow.

Lucifer was the first created being. No God does not hate the devil, but nevertheless he must be destroyed. The devil has had his time to prove to the universe that his way is better, and look whats happened! look at the world he has influenced!
And many eastern religions do believe lucifer to be God. They have been deceived. Freemasonry and the new age movement are among some earlier religions which believe satan to be equal (or higher) with God

No, God does not hate the devil. The devil was once called a, "son of the morning". But because of pride and greed he became the devil, the father of all lies. You could compare it a loving parent who has a wayward child. Though the child may make terrible choices and cause great pain to the parent and to those around him/her, that parent could still love the child. The parent does not condone the actions of the child and will do anything to help that child not make poor choices.A good and loving parent, as God is, understands that their child's bad decisions brings consequences and the parent will not spare the child from those consequences. I believe that is the relationship between God and the devil and all of us.

Lucifer means light bearer. She was to teach the children of Yahweh to keep his laws. She rebelled, and went her own way. She is a created being. Father Yahweh does not hate her. How ever the curse of the rebellion is on her like it is the rest of this world at this time, and dying you will die if you do not repent and turn from sin. I John (Yahchanan )3:4

Well, I don't know what happens up there. But there is one thing I know is that the forces of Good and the Evil have been fighting a great battle ever since the universe was born. And in every war, the Good have achieved victory over the Evil. (Of course, there are some cases where the opposite has happened.) It will go on, and on, and on, and on. It will never stop.

If God is truly Love as most say, then no, he doesn't hate the Devil. He would love him. However as in all nature, there is cause and effect, action and consequence.
You still love your children, but people punish them for wrong doing. That's a much more mundane explanation, but you catch the drift.

Native Americans refer to the Devil as "The Trickster." He tries to trip you up so you have to use your common sence and intellect to get past him. He tempts the faithful ... sometimes even his temptaions lead to blessings: if you hadn't tripped you may have walked past something you need.
Native Americans are not at all materialistic ....
There is no Good or Evil, only positive and negative, which one must keep in balance to find harmony.

No God does not hate Satan, at best indifferent!
But God will put Satan to death and Satan knows that!
Names: Satan, Lucifer, The Devil (as opposed to Devil)

Satan is charged with tempting humanity. He has no power other than what he obtains from God. One of the prophets (Zechariah maybe) God rebukes Satan, but does not harm him. Satan has a job to do. If God did not want him to provide temptation, it would not happen.
