Martian luther king always refered to himself, and his people as *****. It is the correct name for what we now call the black man.
The news media is most responsible for the name change as they saw the word ***** as a racial slur. They the news media began to refer to ****** as blacks without checking the name's history.
If you research it far enough you will find that the British first used the name black as a racial slur meaning "doirty black bastard" but bastsrd was not a really bad word at the time, more of a comrade slang word for british soldiers.
My brother in law called his ex friends names like that but not in disrespect. more like the american good ole boy thing in british slang.

This year it is African American. Next year, who knows. Isn't it a shame that we must call each other something. Wouldn't it be just great to say North American, European, Asian, African, etc rather than having to classified people by race. The day will come when we will call each other brothers or sisters but I'm sorry to say that I will not live long enough to see that happen. Just respect other people like you would want them to respect you and the World will be a better place for all of us to live in.

To be frank......what else can we call black people?African americans?I don't give a fu*k about words. They are just things of the mind. But of course my respects to african americans ,some do not like the word *****.Usually they do not mind if you are a close friend, but most do.Humans make up a lot of words these days.People hear you say something and say that it thus not a word.Well? humans did make up words. So all you people who do that ,you can all just go to hell.

Its not a racial slur, its just an old fashioned term like "Colored" and "Afro American". Just call us Black people and you should get along just fine. Not Chocolateys, Darkies, Nigs, Ni--ers, Coons or Monkeys.

Don't even get me started with THAT one....I try to stay away from using anything remotely related to color; If the new guy who moved in down the street is black, and another neighbor asks me if I've met the new guy, I'll simply say yes and describe him(or her) without using any color description at all...and if someone has the balls to ask me later why I didn't tell them they were black (or white, or Asian, etc.), I just say: "I didn't notice; makes no difference to me."

Yes, although not a racial slur depending on how it is used. Afro-American is more appropriate

well if you look it up in the dictionary *** ger means ignorant person. ***** is just spanish ( only pronaced diffrent ) for black. i don't recomend to use that word when you refer to some one who is black. talk about them as a person even if they are purple with blue poke a dots, because they are still people no mater what.

"*****" is not the best word to refer to black people unless you want to get beat up. just like "cracker" isn't nice to say about white people. black, white, orange, green... it isn't really something to get that upset over. People are too sensitive about these things today. I just think everyone needs to stop freaking out about race issues.

The term "*****" is old and outdated. Use Black, African-American or "person of color"
