I'll share a site that will help you choose your own pet name.
Choose "dog", then "male".... then you can choose a category of names based on "personality", "appearance", "nature" etc.
The list will be presented alphabetically... there are many great suggestions.

The Shiba Inu is known as the oldest and smallest dog native to Japan. The Shiba Inu has an ability to maneuver steep hills and mountain slopes and factoring in its keen senses; these creatures have repeatedly proved to be superb hunting dogs. Sometimes, this breed may seem aloof initially, but soon its real characteristics will surface. The Shiba Inu is a bright, active, and inquisitive dog with a good-natured spirit
So maybe after watching its actions for a while you should name it something with a hint of its breeding/ Do some research on its history and maybe find a name that would fit him.
Naming a new puppy is fun and should not be done in a hurry. Good Luck

Please do not name the dog "Bully" if he's friendly. That'll just make people unnecessarily afraid of your dog before getting to know him. Why not do a Yahoo Search of Shiba Inu names. Put "Shiba Inu names" in the search box (with the quotation marks) and it should pull up a bunch of sites with names that other people have submitted after naming their Inus.
Good luck!

How about "kan-i" which is bravery and boldness combined with composure and mental strength; or the opposite of "kan-i" is "ryosei" which means good nature with a gentle disposition. One cannot exist without the other. The charming side of the Shiba is "soboku" which is artlessness with a refined and open spirit.
Or since they can be a mean dog if not properly trained when young how about: "biteyourkidsfaceoff"! ; )

I like to take a charteristic of the pet and put into a search engine for names. My dog is black and I named him Jett.
Depends on if you want to use his looks or personality. Other good names for a black dog are Blake, Ciaran, Nigel, Devin, Cole, etc.
If you want to name for personality, go to a website with names and meanings and type in the char you pick then choose :)

Last night I dream about a puppy and he spoke. He was found and was really scared. When I showed a little boy that he could speak, the puppy looked at him and said his name was "Musa". I thought that was cool. I will name my next puppy that. I have a good feeling about it. You should name him that. Find out what it means. I dont know
