If we called an apple a dog, what would we call a dog? Would we have to change the name of dogwood trees so we wouldn't confuse them with dog trees? It doesn't really matter if you call an apple a dog because lots of people will still be calling it other names in other languages.

It would still be a dog. We'd be eating dog pie. Saying that it was as American as dog pie. Johnny Dogseed old have roamed the country spreading seeds for dog trees. A dog a day keeps the doctor away! And when we were done eating one, we'd have to toss the dog core. Hey, anyone thirsty for a glass of cool, delicious dog cider?

no it would be called a dog...it's because we give a description to an object and it sticks once it is accepted by the general community
