I read a question recently regarding the creation of God. Most people believe that he has always existed, but how can you create something out of nothing? To bring up the old big bang again... How is it that Christians and such like are so against the idea of a big bang when they claim that something can come out of nothing but are being completely hypocritical when they say God has always been here? Existance is something which can only be created.....discuss.

Just wondering how long it would take for the 'thermodynamics' theory to be posted......

Do you really understand how thermodynamics actually works? What qualifies you to de-bunk thermodynamics? Is this just text in which you have heard of that you find fitting to a question that you have no reasonable logic with which to discuss?

I find it quite poor learning when I hear that basic scientific principals which have and do work to the better needs of people being branded as false by those that dont understand the mechanisms that drive these principals.

In responce to various postings regarding God always being in existance, then that would also apply to the chicken and the egg question, would it not? Seems to me that the existance of God is taken for granted therefore the existance of a chicken without the egg can also be taken for granted! Slightly illogical dont you think?

lol "he's always existed", but only got around to creating the universe in 4004 BC (according to Bishop Ussher and the young earth creationists).

Twiddling his godly thumbs beforehand, presumably.

Some christians insist on irrational truths which cannot be discussed or accounted for (except through human psychology, another topic).

Throwing scientific realities at them is indeed an exercise of "pearls before swine", they have no comprehension if it is not revealed through scripture.

Try asking them how everything on the planet didn't fly into space the day their god 'stopped the sun' over Jericho. Centrifigal force should have shot us into space, yet we're still here.

Try asking them where all the water for their flood came from, or why they believe all fossils are the result of the flood.

Try asking them why, if God's creations are so perfect, men have useless nipples, or why God has sexual organs (since we're supposedly made in "his image").

The challenges in logic which are inherent to Christianity are truly endless. They don't care. The more illogical it is, the more they believe they are being tested and the more they cling to their beliefs.

It's a closed system that can admit to no mistakes, no errors, no possibility of new truths coming to light. "Siege mentality" aptly describes most of them.

Good luck in reasoning with them. You may find my questions (and my approach) useful in trying to understand their faith. Feel free to visit my profile.

Hope that helps.

First off, in order for the Big Bang to have happened, there would have to be preexisting, lifeless material. And even WITH the Big Bang, everything afterwards was random. The theory is that patterns originated in randomness. It's just illogical. However, if God IS the Creator of the universe and everything in it, which He is, and He is an all-powerful being, then is it impossible that He just WAS? He is a organized, complete, being. Is it more likely that there was basically just a couple of rocks that came from an inexplicable nowhere, or is it more likely that there was the Almighty, All-powerful GOD that just WAS? God bless!

Think logical OK . Now I will give you an example of the big bang theory. OK so a tornado hits a scrap yard containing all the parts to make cars... when it is over are we left with cars? Or just scrap?... not good enough OK put a pot outside in a a safe place far from everything else... now place a bomb inside... light the fuse or start the timer whatever... now run real fast... after it goes off go and eat what food you have created out of nothing! lol lol lol... God on the other hand is not material in the way we think. he is not subject to science because he created the world in order witch falls under the laws of science. Science is an essential part of Gods creation but God can not be held in the laws of his creation because he is not his creation. God can not be a part of creation as much as you can not be a part of the answer you write.

Existence from Big Bang has proved to be deficient; it is like to say that the tree exists based on the 'big bang' of the seed, without knowing where the seed comes from. Every child would easily agree with this so-called evident, clear and reasonable proof!
Existence of something from nothing...is really hard to undersatnd. That is why it is called divine creation, not human fabrication.
How can you explain to the child about my answer coming to your computer? What is the communication online, what is light, what are cosmic waves?... Should the child deny my existence, or should he take about 15 years of study to reach to some understanding of this simple truth?
Should I think you are intelligent or Moses is? If you can prove that you are more intelligent than Moses, then I am in no position to talk to you equally anymore, but I must lay my head on earth to worship you as some being greater than the Messenger of God.

Matter has to be created. God is not matter, He is spirit. He is beyond the boundaries of time and space. He is the uncreated being, the self-existent one. He needs nothing, He is totally complete. He is the same yesterday, today and tomorrow. Now the Big Bang? Big problems, such as, it postulates that all the design and order in the universe came from an explosion, could anyone tell us of another explosion in the history of man that brought about more order and design? If I blow up my television, will I get more channels?

What many Christians don't realize, is that when scientist first uncovered the big bang theory, they did it by plotting the paths of the ever-expanding components of the universe (stars, planets, galaxies, etc) and then ran those expanding trajectories backwards in time, using computers. They found that everything in the universe expanded from one tiny central point after an unimaginable explosion they labeled "the big bang".

Scientist still cannot say what caused the big bang. When asked to describe the incomprehensible power in the big bang, they said the only words that can describe it accurately would be, "pure light". Wow!

Pure Light!

Yet in Genesis, the Bible says that when God created everything, he started by saying "Let there be light". A more accurate translation of the original Hebrew would be the command, "Light Be!". Wouldn't that cause a huge explosion of "pure light" to expand from one cental point in darkness (or nothingness)?

The Bible says God "commanded the light to shine out of the darkness". It also says in 1John, "God is light, and in him is no darkness at at all'. Notice it did not say he has light, or uses light. It says, he is light.

The Bible also says that with the Lord, a thousand years is as a day, and a day is as a thousand years.

This unverse is physical and has physical laws. But in God's spiritual realm, time and space do not limit. Physical laws do not apply. Time does not exist. You cannot tell the difference between a thousand years, or one day. They are the same.

Even Albert Einstein, when describing physical laws of this universe said, "Time and space are modes in which we think, and not conditions in which we live".

Science and Religion agree on too many things.

The universe is a physical. It is matter and space. Yet at the smallest quantum level, the stuff that makes up that matter can be observed as either particles (like electrons), or waves (like light waves or energy) depending on the intention of the observer.

In other words, when the scientists who observed the building blocks of creation wanted them to be particles, they became particles. When they wanted to see waves, they became waves.

The stuff that makes up the universe responds to thought!
The non-stuff (energy) can become stuff (matter), and the stuff can become non-stuff. All creation is energy and information. E=MC² Energy=Mass multiplied by the Speed of Light squared. Energy and matter are interchangable.

(If science could ever decode the information and energy that makes up all things, and then learn to recode that information with energy, they might be able to make a transporter like those on the popular Star Trek series. Just a thought)

Scientists today are beginning to think the matirx of the whole universe is more like a great thought, rather than a great expanse of space and solid matter. The Christian Bible says, "In him (God) we live, and move, and have our being."

.

This is why i don't believe in religion, because you are lead to believe that some one (God) has created everything and you need to worship him or go to hell. I say believe in yourself and not religion, if there is life after death or reincarnation then great but I'm sure that a so-called God had nothing to do with it. If you read the bible or heard versions of some texts, they don't say anything about Dinosaurs, Why you ask ? That's because they hadn't been found when they decided to write the story of the bible or other texts. According to them it was black then 'God' farted and the universe was made and in seven days time he had a rest and let us lot go about our own business. I agree with science, if you can give it rock solid evidence like science i will believe it if it's in a book with no witnesses then i don't want to know. Thank you for reading.

elementary God is basically no longer a he, God is existence. Ask this. What was God God to until now in spite of else? The term God implies in spite of better than each and every thing else or separation. as a result God was God to no longer something. If God is love how did God love until now there became a enjoyed to love? If God is reliable for the production, if God is additionally any the region, any time, if God is one, if God is eternal in charge for all issues than God might desire to be the best purchase it somewhat is. it somewhat is God is area, time, all rely and non - subject. The production and writer are one and the comparable. The universe is increasing and we are of it. God is our loss of advice how Guyana have been given here into being. If God could exist it somewhat is.

The physical world is set to laws which have been put in place by God. However, God is greater than the physical world we are bound in. He created time, so there is no moment when God didn't exist and then did. It is true that in the physical realm, it is impossible for something to appear out of nothing, but God created that. He even created the natural law that something physical must have an origin.

I agree.
Saying "the world always existed" is as satisfying as saying "god always existed and God then created the universe"
However the "God" should be cut out by the principle of "Occam's Razor"[1] The theory basically says that if we have to theories explaining the the same thing -- we should pick the one that is the simplest.
In this case God is really an unnecessary creature, and is thus cut out by the razor.
