if you wanna keep your guy that you like, I wouldn't recommend it. If you do this, your guy will leave tou in a very big hurry. No man unless he is wierd wands to share his woman with another guy. And if the "back up" gets wind he was only the "back up" which will happen, well, he'll leave too, and guys talk, so the word will get around, you'll be labled as undesireable by the general populace, and the only guy you'll ever find will just be the "playas" who could care less about ou and only care about scoring. In the end you'll be a single mother, no man, and a **** load of kids. So, take some advice from one that has seen it happen before, shay faithful to your man, take it one at a time and give the guy an honest shot.

I think is is acceptable because you state that it is not serious. You do well by experiencing a variety of masculine personalities. That is an excellent way of discovering what you desire in a lifetime partner. More women should be doing that instead of pining away for a man who could care less.

It is ridiculous to emotionally and socially force women to date one at a time when guys "play the field". The only reason people feel uncomfortable with women dating several guys at once is because guys tend to play around sexually when they date several girls at once. They are looking to see who is "easy" and in some cases when the girl does not comply they spread the false rumor that she is indeed easy when she is not.

This is a double standard that needs to be dispelled and stamped out for good.

It's all about choice and protecting your emotions. Guys can be brutes when it comes to women's emotions and women need a buffer for that kind of treatment. I say go for it girl! Good luck, hope this helps.

I don't think it's wise to have a "back up." Having someone or others lurking in the shadows never allows you to share your true self with your current partner. When we are in a male/female relationship, not only is it important to learn all there is to know about that person; it's also important to learn all there is to know about ourselves.
