God demanded human sacrifices in the holy books (even told one guy at the last minute: just kidding)..killed his own son, too, according to one religion. Why worry about the druids when your god has demanded bloody human sacrificies and, for at least one "faith," still does.

The Emperor Claudius stoped the Druids' human sacrifices. Christianity was not a factor.

Would Christians still be burning heretics and 'witches' if not for the Reformation?
And how many people were killed conquering Northern Europe?
In fact, isn't the concept of a Christian soldier totally opposed to the doctrine of Christ?

I don't know do you think the Pope would organize another Crusade to slaughter the infidels?
Oh, and how did the "Christians" CONQUER Northern Europe? Was it by forgiving and turning the other cheek? Or was it by, as you put it, sacrificing people?

I think I read somewhere that they stopped making human sacrifices quite a while before the Roman invasion. It was a "phase", apparently. Just as all religions go through periods of change in worship and interpretation, so did those who followed the Druidic belief structure. Yes, most of their kind were eradicated by the Romans, but by that time their belief systems had evolved beyond human sacrifice.

Almost every religion in human existence and history, including monotheistic offered blood sacrifices. The early Hebrews did so regularly and claimed that the smell of burning animal flesh was "pleasing to the Lord". If they hadn't been conquered, I suspect that they would have done what most other religions have done...dropped the blood and continued on.

I think all newly saved people should do some reading about their new religion and try to become better informed before they start criticising things they don't know anything about.
