alpho omega. beginning and end. if god is omnipotent, omnipresent, and he exists outside our universe in another plane of time and space, is able to exist in dimensions outside our perception, and essentially able to know what has happened, what will, and hold the power to have already decided the fate of the world, doesn't this in effect inhibit and virtually negate our free will? isn't this contradictory? if he knows the outcome and is able to exist throughout time, he already knows what we're going to do and we are already set in motion on a specific plan that is predetermined, thus no free will. explain.

Totally beyond the human brain, at this stage of evolution at least, to comprehend. Just like the other dimensions that you speak of. Personally I feel that the human concept of "God" is flawed. And with the entire universe, and then some, to contend with why should free will be of any concern?

It's like this. Say that you and I were in a car on the free way at night, and you were driving. Pretend that you decide to switch lanes, and the instant you switch over, an out-of-control car speeds past you. Keep in mind, all this time I was watching you. Pretend that I had looking back and had seen the car coming before you switched lanes, but said nothing. Did I force you to cross over? No. YOU chose to cross over, thus demonstrating your free will. The fact that I knew that car would hit you if you didn't had no affect on your decision. However, sometimes God will lead us by the prompting of His Spirit. Pretend that we are in the same situation that I previously described. This time, you just had a feeling that you should cross over. At this point in time, you can chose to respond to this feeling or ignore it. Remember, sometimes we don't realize that God is prompting us to do something until after the fact. At this point in time, it's just a feeling you are having. YOU decide how you are going to respond. If you ignore it, you will most likely die, even though you don't know that. If you heed it, you will probably live. God knows what is about to happen, and He might prompt you in a certain way, but it is usually up to YOU, and YOU ALONE, to decide how to respond. I hope this helps, God bless!

Yes. We have free will. Yes, God is omniscient. Having foreknowledge does not negate free will. When I go home from work tonight I have the choice to drive my car off of the bridge or stay on the highway. I KNOW that I'm not going to drive off the bridge. Does that mean my choice doesn't exist? Of course it exists...
However, even the above analogy is thinking of things in physical, human, terms. God sees the future as clearly as he sees the past. He exists outside of our dimensions of time & space. God isn't "held" to "the course this world will take"...he doesn't have to "do things a certain way" because its been decreed. From the perspective of God, he sees it as already done.

You can know exactly what someone is going to do and not have any part in making them do it. You could be sitting in your car and you look over and see two cars collide. You saw that it was about to happen, yet did you have anything to do with actually making it happen? No. You just saw that it was. It was the other people's bad driving that actually caused to crash. Does that help a little?

It is good for us to understand that there are actually two wills in our relationship with God: One is ours, and the other is God's. Oftentimes one person wants one thing and the other wants another.
There is nothing bad about wanting something if it is not sinful or not against law of men ( unrighteous ) or deceitful. God does not have anything against us having desire for what is good and productive, helpful for ourself and others. God wants us to have a pleasure in our life so that we do not just endure our life.
God's laws protect us. As I mature in my faith, I realize that I am willingly following God's way. When I surrender my life to Him, He is not abusing my hopes and dreams. He enjoys giving me what I ask when I walk closely with Him. And that is when it is not so big deal anymore to try to separate what is my will and what is His will. I gladly serve Him, and He gladly gives me what I desire if it is not contrary for His plan for me. His timing and ways are better than my ways. Good is good, and He only does good things. He knows what is the best for me, and that is why I rely on His understanding. He loves me and I chose to love Him back. There is no better way to love some one that with a free will.

Nope. Just like knowing your child is going to get in the cookie jar the minute you're out of sight. You knowing it doesn't make him do it. He still has the free will to choose not to steal the cookie.

Something must be wrong with your concept of God.
We have free will - a wavefunction collapse carried outward by the lyapunov exponent.
Or perhaps there might be no God at all.

Just because God knows what WILL happen doesn't mean He doesn't allow you to choose. He simply knows what you are going to chose before you chose.
