i recentaly found out that my younger 4th grae brother masturbates its this too young oir normal? i also found out that my sister starting masturbating in 7th grade, is that more normal or what?

No its not natural or normal. These are children, not adults. Its time to treat children like children. Everyone has this whole thing twisted and that is why so many kids are out of control now. What would posses someone to think that masturbation is normal for a 9 year old? They are obviously learning bad habits somewhere and if you keep turning a deaf ear the problem will only get worse. This may be an underlying sign of things to come. seriously bad things. Get help...Please.

Masturbation is completely normal. Studies actually show that most girls start masturbating around 7th grade to 8th grade. 4th grade seems a little young, but it's not unhealthy.
Don't frett. Your children are fine and perfectly normal.
You might have to talk to them about what's going on with their bodies and explain what they're doing. It's going to be uncomfortable, but it's information they're better off learning from you than from other sources.

It is better than the alternative . Most kids do this and I guess with SEX everywhere we look these days they are getting younger and younger . Usually they grow out of it and find other past times or at the very least do it less often.

Thumbs up to everyone who said that it is normal to masturbate! There is no set age for discovering your body. It would be completely out of line to tell on your brother and/or sister.

Young kids have more opportunities these days to further their own sexual development (i.e., magazines, movies). So, what is the fine line between age definition these days? There is no surprise that they are masturbating...

Sweet heart masturbating is abslolutely normal. I started at 12 also. It happens when you start exploring your own body by your self and by mistake you touched your self somewhere and it felt good, so you keep doing it. Its called getting to know your own body. Its also safe sex!

Almost everyone likes stuff that feels good. Thats why we dont wear wood clothes.

boys have this thing that gets hard sometimes, and naturally, they explore it sooner..... in either case, as long as it's not something that they are obsessing over -- it's pretty normal. It should also be private. Bathroom or bedroom, not where others can see.
