When it happens to you, you'll know. Real love is just that, it's real. Something that endures no matter what troubles come your way. When I lost my right foot in a work accident, I was so afraid that my then boyfriend/now husband would leave me once I was back on my "feet". But was I wrong. He stayed by me through it all and is still here. You know it is real when you feel blessed to have them in your life. I hope you find real love, if you haven't already!

Real Love is this:

1 Corinthians 13: 4 - 8:

"Love is long-suffering and kind. Love is not jealous, it does not brag, does not get puffed up, does not behave indecently, does not look for its own interests, does not become provoked. It does not keep account of the injury. It does not rejoice over unrighteousness, but rejoices with the truth. It bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never fails."

Real love is knowing that the person will never ever do anything to hurt you intentionally, will always be there for you and never do it because they want something in return. Real love lives in your heart and you know when it is real, because you never wonder about it.

A temporary insanity curable by marriage or by removal of the patient from the influences under which he incurred the disorder. This disease, like caries and many other ailments, is prevalent only among civilized races living under artificial conditions; barbarous nations breathing pure air and eating simple food enjoy immunity from its ravages. It is sometimes fatal, but more frequently to the physician than to the patient.

Real love is when there is a preponderance of reinforcing interactions with another individual and a minimum of punishing interactions. The relationship is reciprocal and equal in its give and take.

We can learn much of real Godly love from 1 Corinthians chapter 13. But in my own personal opinion, real Christian love is caring for others in spite of their faults, wanting to help and take care of others; putting them first even before your own self in many ways. Real love also involves even being willing to give up your life if necessary, for the sake of someone else. And it also many times involves having to stand and just keep your mouth shut, when you are being hurt very severely by someone who seems to not know whern to shut theirs. I guess patience is what I am talking about. For I most certainly have had to learn to just try and be quiet, even when I am being criticized, falsely accused, and really being talked to in such a way as to make me feel like a real good-for-nothing person. But I must realize that they also talked to Jesus in such a way, and much worse. I have to just pray to God to help me just try to close my ears; and realize that the words are really coming from Satan; not from the other party. For we must always remember, that Satan is our real enemy; not other people; in spite of how they may talk to us or treat us. In such situations, they are just Satan's instruments. And it gets mighty hard sometimes. And I believe that if I did not have real love in my heart for the other person, I could not do it. Real love must stand a lot of hard trials; and Jesus is the only one Who can help us to get through them. Real love is a subject which is very hard to put in words, but maybe I have helped you to get the idea of what it is. May God Bless You.

1 Cor 13:4-8 ‘ God’s love is patient, God’s love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, God’s love keeps no record of wrongs. God’s love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. God’s love never fails.

The greatest love ever shown was that of Christ when he suffered and died for our sins. I view that as a standing example for modern times. When you would suffer to save someone else from pain of their own, then you know for sure you love someone.
