The deportation Friday of a well-educated Venezuelan couple who admitted lying about their citizenship when they registered to vote in Boone County, Ky., has struck a chord among those who are in the United States illegally, their lawyer said.

Over the past six years, along with dozens, if not hundreds of illegal immigrants in Boone County, they have become part of the community, Arnett said, their status almost forgotten.

It may have been their downfall, he said. "After being here for a while, they got lulled into a false sense of security," he said. "They don't think that way now, that's for sure."

"In a plea agreement with federal prosecutors, they pleaded guilty to falsely claiming they were U.S. citizens in exchange for a recommended sentence of probation and deportation....The conviction also means the couple is prohibited from ever entering the United States again, even as visitors...."

Angela some states are easier than others. However by law when you sign up for a driver's license you have to be given a way to register easily if qualified. So they said yes they were citizens, and were sent a voter registration card. However, they had lied.

John Smith - shut up. Citizens can vote, regardless of color, of course. No one else is allowed.

That's why they call it an INVASION. If people don't see guns in the street, they don't see it. It's called attacking the LAW which is just a disastrous to you and your children's future as any gun.

The more people deny it the more they lose. In the Chicago area there's a pro-criminal group trying to get 15 million to register, legally or not.

When our government take the power away from We The People, We The People will end up taking the power away from the goverment.

"They knew
they were not citizens of this country
when they checked the form,
but they had no criminal intent," Arnett said.

NO CRIMINAL INTENT ??

Sounds To Me Like
They Were Trying To Slip Through The Cracks

- prohibited from ever entering the United States again,
even as visitors -

Good
That's What They Deserve

They IGNORED Their Primary Responsibilities
Regarding Their Citizenship Status

If It Was A PRIORITY To Them (It SHOULD Have Been)
This Wouldn't Have Happened

They've Proven Total Disregard For The Law

They Don't Deserve To Live In The USA

PS:
Illegal votes may have made the difference in at least one Congressional election. In 1996, Rep. Bob Dornan lost his Orange County, California seat to Loretta Sanchez by fewer than 1,000 votes. State elections officials found that at least 300 votes in that election were cast illegally by non-citizens.

“In many states today, you can register to vote without ever being required to show that you are a citizen. Motor-voter registration and a rise in absentee ballots have only exacerbated voter fraud. If certain states are really so committed to protecting illegal aliens who vote, let them put their money where their mouth is and take a hard hit in federal funding,” said Tancredo.

PS: I bet they hiding with catholic priest (pervert)before deportation

It is well known to most of us I'd say that illegal voting occurs ... alas in many states they are very lax about showing proof of citizenship, and in some states they seem to prefer to look the other way .... nothing new, but I'm glad you drew the attention to what's really going on ...

In some places, as we have learned in our history, dead people vote, some people vote more than once, and guess what, millions of people who CAN vote, don't. I think we need to be realistic and realize that while there are illegal immigrants who do beyond what their status allows them to do, in most cases, its the exception, not the norm.

Dar, I don't know what to think, because my husband, who is a resident cannot vote....I think its wrong if people are lying about citizenship to be able to vote....How can they do that? When I go vote I have to show my voter registration card, and if I don't have it, I can't vote....its crazy.

Yikes! It certainly takes a lot more to be deported from the US than from, say...Canada. And that they can get away with it a lot longer.

Thanks for the information. Very interesting.

It's pretty obvious that illegals vote and not just in isolated cases like this. Any guesses as to what party they vote for?

I don't doubt illegals vote and I also don't doubt the pols turn their heads as long as they feel they're voting their way. Dead men vote why not illegals.
