Well...I have lost all confidence what-so-ever, and I want to know if I still have a few options. In school, there is a guy I like; I hardly ever heard him talk before because he's shy and reserved. His friends however are talkative and he only talks to them and no one else. I would like to start a conversation with him but I only have one class with him and he sits at the very back. (While I sit in the middle of the class.) I know and talk to his friends, but I can't seem to find a easy way to get near him and talk to him. Besides we can't get up much in class anyway...and his friends I talk too, but I don't completely know them that much either.
Is there a way I can start talking to him even though we are always far away from each other?

Start out with say HI ____! and smile. Look Him in the eyes when you do this. No pressure take your time. graduate up to hey did you catch the homework assignment? Or can I borrow your notes next period I missed some stuff. Remember just take your time all he can say is I like you like a sister!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! been there done that. try not to take things so serious. If it is fun and easy going guys tend to come around.

The best thing is to find out where he has lunch and join his group if you can. That will give you a chance to be around him in a social setting. Other good times for meeting are after school or between classes. It's important to have at least one class together so that he recognizes you when you come up to him. Otherwise, class isn't the best place to socialize unless you are sitting beside each other.

Good luck :)

Get to know one of his friends better... Not in a romantic way, of course. By doing that, you will have the right to come over while they're talking to ask/say something. OR you could always just do something as simple as complimenting his shirt. Compliments truly can start good conversation. Trust me.

try and catch him after class on his way out...or ask the teacher to switch the seats around at some point and hope that you end up sitting closer to him...when you do get to talk to him, try to ask him questions that require an answer longer than "not much" (which is much to often the answer to "whats up?") this will get him to actually talk

Ask him a question, something about the class you share. Maybe if you talk to him about something that is not personal then he will be less shy and it may lead to other conversations.
