Well actually we call our male birth parent Father as well but it has no religious connotations.
As far as different religions go they all use different names for THEIR Church leaders and advisors. Vast differences between the Catholic religion and the Christian Bible. They are not related what so ever thus the Father and Son can have various meanings and titles within the Church itself if those "spirits" represent that particular religious denomination.
God, Jesus, the Mother Mary, Buddha and Allah all represent personal religious beliefs.
We don't have to believe in other religions in order to accept their existence, do we?
Isn't it a fact that any level of belief in God is done by FAITH? Not because we have seen HIM? But simply because we believe HIM to exsist?
So there will always be those that believe in one God or the other.
God shall come in many forms...............
Denominational titles are no more then just that! To title a certain religious figure with some importance within that certain denomination.
Priests are found within the Catholic religion just as ministers and preachers are found within others such as Baptist and Christians and so forth.
As for your warning? I would think your question on Yahoo Answers would be available for all to answer. So you may get an unwanted answer. If this question is for informational reasons then allow those to post the answers they feel best suits them.
Such is the debate of religion.

In your life, have you only addressed your male parent as 'Mr. X' or by his first name? Since under normal circumstances the answer is "no" then what does that tell you? Do you think Jonathan Edwards called his male parent 'father?' He had long hair which Paul says men shouldn't. I would suggest being at least as liberal as the Puritans on such matters.
A good example of the limits of protestant literalism.

Hey, a Strong's Concordance really helps. Your speaking of Matthew 23:9. Back when Catholocism began they took Matthew 16:17-19 and used it to set up a hierarchy system of religion which allowed them to control the lay people. The main reason they succeeded lies in the fact that the Bible was kept from the common people so they were kept in ignorance.

As i say this to many, they represent God, spread his word and gain themselves the right to be called Father. Hey well it will be them by Christ's side fighting armageddon and the Anti-Christ and that includes the greatest man of life John Paul the second.

I am not a Christian however I have read and studied the bible. I do not recall anywhere in the Bible it saying that one should only called god the father. As a matter of fact, I am sure it doesn't. Please quote book and verse as proof.
Thanks

Withdraw your warning if indeed you want an honest debate!
Your question does not inspire honest answers, it seems to me you are only looking for confrontation and I for one admire the answers you have got so far.....my own decency alone prevents me from telling you publicly what I really think of you and your supposed question.

Did you ever read in the Bible of one Christian’s calling another “Father” as an honorary title? Search as diligently as you can, and you will find that not even the apostles bore the title “Father.” No authority for using the title “Father” for Christians is given in the Scriptures. Indeed, the title is expressly condemned! By whom? By Christ himself! Speaking of the title-loving clergy of his day, Jesus said: “They like the most prominent place at evening meals and the front seats in the synagogues, and the greetings in the marketplaces and to be called ‘Rabbi’ by men. But you, do not you be called ‘Rabbi’, for one is your teacher, whereas all you are brothers. Moreover, do not call anyone your father on earth, for One is your Father, the heavenly One.”—Matt. 23:6-9
Did Jesus mean what he said? Certainly! He was not uttering idle words. Does it take a mental giant to understand his command? No, his words need no special interpretation, for Jesus was speaking no parable. He was giving clear-cut instructions about creature-exalting titles: “Do not call anyone your father on earth.”
The Roman Catholic clergy water down the force of Jesus’ command by saying that his words cannot be taken literally, otherwise we could not call our male parent “father.” Is their reasoning sound? Hardly! Read the context. From the setting it is unmistakably clear that Jesus was not condemning the use of “father” for the male parent, for he himself repeatedly referred to the male parent as “father.” (Matt. 15:4-6; 19:5; 21:31) His condemnation was of the honorary title.

Hey there are many things which Roman Catholicism practice which are very unbiblical. They have changed the 10 commandments and have not hearkened to many things in which the Bible states it should do.
Have a look at this Bible study about the antichrist (its a video but have a Bible ready if you can)
Also you should try to study Revelation and Daniel - very interesting.
