I'm in the 9th grade as well! lol Just do your hair up nice, put on some nice make up, and dress in a cute outfit! When you talk to a guy, you must plan out what you're gonna say before you say it or you might end up just sitting there like "hi....how are you.... bye" ! And they'll think you're crazy! TRUST me I've learned that the hard way! Hopefully you'll meet a guy you realy like this year! If you need anymore advice, mail me at advice4u180@yahoo.com Good luck!!!

Take a debating/ public speaking course so you could be more confident in talking. You sound like a smart and interesting girl that can offer alot in a relationship.
So go out and socialize. The more people you talk the more confident you get in approaching people in general.
Remember eye contact when you speaking is important. It gives the impression that your interesting in what there talking about.

Stand up straight, speak clearly and look people in the eye. Smile and say hello. Most guys at that age are not real smooth either!
And be proud ouf your "nerd" status. Most of the slackers will end up working for people like you.
Good luck!

I'm pretty much in the same postion. Just be yourself and talk through the fear. You'll never get a boyfriend by sitting around doing nothing. You have to be brave and go out and shoot for what you want!

Try to get your mind off yourself. Think about the guy you are talking to, ask him what he's interested in, kind of like you are interviewing him... only don't go too far, he'll ask if you're writing a book...LOL. Just act interested in them and find out what they like. That automatically makes you less worried about yourself.

Well, first off in order to be confident you have to be confortable in your own skin....and then its easy from there....just realize that talking to a guys is like talking to anybody else you just have to keep the conversation going and if you like him flirt with him a little like touching his arm or laughing at a stupid/funny joke stuff like that....and if for some reason you say something stupid or something just laugh it off guys love that........they love the fact that you can laugh at yourself and your silly mistakes....just be yourself have a good time, and remember that years from now your look back and think why was that so hard for me....or something like that........if you need to talk e-mail me through yahoo answers.......:)

just do it. i know easier said than done. but its the truth. im goin through the same thing. i just havent followed my own advice yet. the time will come that you will have enough confidence to talk to him. or u could always drop a note in his locker, or go up to him in person and pretend he is one of ur friends - both of those have worked pretty well for me

Just be yourself and assert yourself with the guys. If a guy likes you for you and not who people think you are then you've won. If not move on and find some real friends.

You need to feel good about your self..you hear those cheesey people always say..you need to love yourself..before any one else can..and thats true..dont think of them...as guys..or.."potentials"..think about them..as friends..talk to them..as friends..You get nervous when you think about it..as..OMG a hot guys talking to me..what do i do..what do i say...but you have to relax yourself..Its a process..yes..just try not to think about it so much..just talk to them as..any one else..once you get comfortable doing that..then move your way up to..flirting..ect..
