The Romans crucified Jesus - they only did this to political enemies of the state. He was crucified with "King of the Jews" above his head. Think about it!!!!! JESUS WAS A JEW!!!!!

The bible has been doctored, edited, suppressed, changed, a zillion times. it was certainly changed by the romans, who have the texts remember!, to show them in a good light - we didn't really want to kill him, look, we've converted - and the jews, the only people to consistently stand up to the Romans, get the blame for killing one of their own. When clearly many jews didn't want him killed. It's despicable to me that people cannot clearly see that this version of the story is totally written to serve the romans and hurt their oppressed victims.

The Romans fixed up that story to throw blame on 'the jews' - utterly stupid since Jesus and his followers were Jews, Jews unto their own deaths. Utter stupidity allows some to believe it. Paul and the romans - the true destroyers of christ and his message.

Good grief ,do you think Lee Harvey Oswald would have killed Kennedy....? Does that make all people from Dallas guilty too? No Pilate would not have killed him if the politicians and head priests had not put pressure on him along with having the case heard when Jerusalem was asleep. It is not the Jewish peoples' fault unless we all killed Kennedy too.

*note~ Jesus is documented as not only existing but that he was on trial during the time of Pilate and was innocent. The information is there if one really wants to find it.
I hope that illuminates it for you take care

Take a look at the story concerning the crucifixion. Pilate had no legal basis to have Jesus crucified and said to the people that he saw no reason for Jesus to be crucified. The Bible also states that he saw that they wanted Jesus crucified because they were jealous of Him. So we see that Pilate did not want to crucify Jesus. But Jesus was handed over to be crucified because the Jews would not take no for an answer and Pilate did not want a riot on his hands. So from this point of view, Pilate could not have prevented it without violence. However, what did Jesus do in all this? Barely anything. He did not speak to defend Himself and went to the cross without resistance. He went to the cross in obediance to God's will to pay our penalty for our sins, and even Jesus said the power Pilate had to crucify or not was given to him by God. I hope this answers your question in some way.

Pilate did not have Jesus killed. when he was brought before Pilate it was a special day where the Jewish people could chose who would be crucified and who would be set free. Pilate could find no wrong in Jesus to sentence Jesus to death and left it up to the people gathered around the place of questioning to chose between Jesus and Barabbas after washing his hands of any thing to do with the outcome.the people for Barabbas were either the largest or most vocal group and he was set free while Jesus was sent to the cross.
So It was the Rabbis that had become afraid of Jesus and his message and their positions that forced Pilate to but Jesus on trial.

Pilate did everything he could think of to let Jesus go! He called him innocent at least 4 times!
It was Pilate who had the plaque nailed over Christs head, at the displeasure of the temple.
and it was the Kenites who called for Christs death.

It's really interesting that there is absolutely definite proof that Pontius Pilate existed and had a full-time job in Jerusalem during the time period referenced, but that Jesus cannot be located in any official (or unofficial) records at all.

The record of the trial of Jesus is not consistent with law or conduct of either civil or criminal proceedings by Roman or Jewish courts, so the whole episode is somebody's bad dream, and a person without a grasp of how things worked, at that.

It's a not-very-good fairy tale, with some real names and places thrown in to make it seem more plausible.

YES! Because it was prophesied that the Son of God would be crucified and then rise again after three days. Whether Pilate wanted to kill Jesus just because or if he handed Jesus over and the people said kill Him, Jesus one way or the other would have been crucified.

What an interesting question. Pilate always was interesting to me. The verse in the bible that says he knew the Jews had delivered Jesus to him "out of envy" really told me something about this man.

Who knows? We will never know.

He was definitlely not going to have Jesus killed, but I'm glad he was weak and gave in to their pressure. By having Jesus killed, Pilate helped Christ fulfill his mission to take on the sin of mankind.
