Interesting that you mention Rome, because the first Catholic Pope was was also the Emperor of Rome.

The problem you are seeing involves getting beyond the myths, superstitions, and spiritualism that has built itself up, and incorporated itself into modern Christianity. Strip all the idolitry, the superstitions, the rituals, and the incorporation of pagan holidays, like the worship of sun gods (Christmas) and the worship of sex/reproduction (Easter), and what you have left is the teaching which show you the truth of the Bible.

Strip all this same stuff from non-christian religions, and you find you have nothing left. They survive by requiring their people to perform specific rights and rituals.

Many, if not most, self proclaimed Christian churches do this same thing because they face the same problems as their fellow non-christian religions. If you strip away all the extras that God or Jesus did not tell us to follow, observe, or celebrate, and there is nothing left to them.

The Apostle Paul said that he felt he had worked so hard for nothing because even the Christians of his time had begun returning to the rituals and observances of men.

What is interesting is they don't observe the one day Jesus did say to keep in Memorial, Niacin 14 (old Jewish lunar calendar date). Find a Christian religion that does keep that day in observance, and none of the others, and you will understand the truth of the scriptures.

The Romans and the Greeks may have had some similarities but the difference is that Christians are monotheistic (which if you don't know means they believe in one and only one God) and the Romans and Greeks were polytheistic (belief in many gods who rule over different aream) much like the ancient Egyptians. The son of God is the Christian's saviour compared to the sons and daughters of Roman and Greek god's that were considered to be gods in themselves. Try reading a little.

I will answer your question concerning Christianity being the right religion, as I'm not sure where your question of being original is coming from or what initiated it. But why is Christianity truth? Consider the Old Testament, which was written centuries before Christ. The Old Testament gives several prophecies concerning Christ which were all fulfilled before His arrival. Some of these include a voice in the desert calling out that preceeded Jesus (John the Baptist was this voice), the messiah (Christ is the Greek word for messiah) was to be born in Bethlehem and born of a virgin, a decendent of David, and would give Himself to be afflicted and punished for the sins of the world, standing before His tormenters as a sheep before its sheerers. Furthermore, a Psalm written by David prophesies the way in which He would die, accurately describing crucifixion centuries before it was practiced. These truths have only further reinforced my faith. Even more so by the many individuals who were moved to disprove Christianity. To describe two, Viggo Olsen became a Christian when the truth overwhelmed his failed attempt to disprove Christianity, and he became a missionary to Bangledesh. CS Lewis became a Christian in the same way and became a famous Christian author. So if you are not a Christian, I challenge you to check out these truths for yourself and put your faith in Jesus Christ, for He died for you too and He alone can save a person from their sins. "For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord," (Romans 6:23 KJV)

They're deluded. They don't realize that everything about their religious cult was ripped off from other religions. They stoled from everyone, from the Egyptians to the Greeks to the Romans to the Germanic and Celtic peoples. Christianity is nothing but a plagiarized religion.

You think Christians are the only ones that think their religion is right? Ever hear of Islam, at least our radical Christians are not on a mission to kill all who disagree with them. Greeks believed in Mythical Gods, Romans were Christian based religion, ever hear of the Vatican?

well original is a word that I probably wouldn't say most christian's claim.........if you mean exclusive....then along with a number of others we would be rightly stated as claiming that................but we would not be alone....so does islam, judaism etc.....

In fact among most people who believe that truth is one thing rather than a mixture of many things it is the only logical conclusion.....i.e that if A is true and B is not A....than B must not be true.....

There are some religions that holds that truth is many different things...

There are some that claim that truth can be more than one thing at once.........

these seem not to make sense to me at all......a creator God who is expressed through his design....and wishes to communicate with his creation is plausible to me.

His communication containing a guide for life and reconciliation to himself is also plausible

If His communication requests exclusivity, well

It is all about whether these stated beliefs are true....

I think that some fearful christians are obnoxious in their statement and approach to people who believe other things and it creates resentment...........not necessary and not humble

Why do you attack only Christianity? There are so many different faiths, beliefs, religions, why do you mention only Christianity?

You even quote it out of context!

I think that you would do better trying to answer, Why are there humans on this planet?

Nature governs everything, creating nothing that does not support something else in nature? Nothing in nature exist just for the show!

Man supports nothing in nature! Nothing, in nature requires humans existence to survive. So why are we here?

Why even come here and then die? For what reason/purpose.

Humans do nothing that is relevant to anything that is out there!

There is no such thing as an original or TRUE religion. All religions are based off other religions with either slight or major differences. It depends on different things such as beliefs, culture, geographical location etc. Only God knows the true religion.

I do remember reading these stories in many actual historical texts. I also recall reading that the Egyptians and the Sumerians believed this too and they both predate even the Romans and the Greeks. The bible is just a babe when it comes to these stories.

Christians are taught that their religion is unique by their ministers and priests. The novelty is supposed to be part of its appeal.

The entire story is simply warmed-over pagan tales (Dionysius), Egyptian theology (Isis, Osiris, Horus), Indian mysticism (Krishna) and Jewish religious predictions (Isaiah) thrown together to appeal to the widest possible group of people so as to enslave them mentally and enforce the rules of the state.

It worked beyond the wildest dreams of the original crafters. If nothing else, we must give them credit for a job well done; Jesus never really existed, but he is so real to so many people that he might as well have lived and walked the earth.
