Hi. There is some sentences that confuse me.

" I try to be patient with Tina, but she makes snide remarks about everything I do. For example, if I drop something, she says, "Isn't he clumsy? Ha, Ha!" On one occasion, she served hors d'oeuvres to the person I was talking to, with her back to me, and then walked away with the tray.
I don't mind the rude behavior half as much as her attitude"

When she served hors d'oeuvres to the person I was talking to, with her back to me, and then walked away with the tray, grandfater thought it a rude behavior. Why is it rude? Because she took the tray withouth asking the guest if he finished his meal and walked away? Please help me out~

It was rude because she interrupted the conversation, had her back to one of the parties (meaning she cut right between them), and didn't offer the hors d'oeuvres to both of them.

The proper thing to do would have been to either wait or say, "excuse me." Then she should have acknowledged both people and offer the food to each of them.

Tina was rude because she didn't offer any hors d'oeuvres to the speaker (or writer). Since she came up to two people talking, she should have offered the snacks to both of them, not just to one and walked away from the other.

I'm not sure I understand what you're asking. You're asking why it was rude of the character Tina to serve the person the narrator was speaking to, and not the narrator?

It's rude because the narrator was RIGHT THERE, and Tina made a point of not serving him/her, but served the person they were speaking to.

I read it as she served food to the guy the teller was talking to but ignored the teller = he didn't get any food.
