Rum is about the harshest liquor out there. Christians can drink whatever - the first miracle of Christ was water into wine! - but don't waste your brain cells on rum. Most people can only handle it mixed with Coke or something to mask the hashness.

Try a sweet wine for starters, like a riesling.

The taste is fairly unique, and difficult to describe. I would say it is sweet only relative to other liquors.

As to the Christian question, I don't believe drinking alcohol is inherently a sin, if you drink in moderation and aren't spending inordinant amounts of money on alcohol that you might spend in a better way doing god's work.

Depends on if you are of legal age or not. If of legal age, I do not believe that the Bible forbids alcohol except in excess; in other words, do not get drunk.

If you are not of legal age, no, you cannot "sip a little bit" because it is illegal. We are to follow authority (Hebrews 13:17).

As for the taste-can't explain it. Strong, not nasty, though

You'll think it tastes about the way kerosene tastes at first. Nothing wrong with a Christian taking a drink that I can find. Drunkenness, however, is a problem.

It's yummy. Try Captain Morgan spiced rum. Arrrggh!! I don't know if you're supposed to have any as a christian, but your name starts with "teenage", so I'm thinkin maybe you should wait a few years? =)
