How dare I think I can be something. I come from a unwed teenage mother on welfare. Had no mentor or direction and college just happened somehow. Then I got pregnant, and I struggled but finished college. I have a degree and workd then moved to a whole new state and guess what, i had to leave it to come back home to care for my sick mother. Now I have nothing, I am nothing, I came from nothing and never felt diserving of my degree, never felt confident in my career. Now I have no job, no insurance nothing, I have a child and a recovering sick mother. How dare I think I could do better than my mother or even do anything with my life, Its always 10 steps backwards and a fight to just make one step foward. can see a shrink, no money remember

The question you should ask yourself is not how dare you think you can be something but do you dare? Look at what you have already accomplished. You made it to college and even having a child did not stop you from finishing. Now unselfishly you came home and helped your mother recover from her illness. You sound like you are a very loving daughter and mother and now you need to DARE yourself to do for yourself what you do for everyone else and love yourself enough to find out what makes you happy. It will be a challenge and a struggle but what does not kill us makes us stronger.Just know that you are worth the fight.

How dare you think so poorly of yourself. Setp back a sec and look at your situation. You went to AND graduated college. You were a good enough person to drop your job and move back to help your mother. Do you have any idea what kind of person it takes to put others first? There should be more people like you. You are not your mother. Your are not your mother's mother. You are you childs mother and for her to see you run back to help your mom, it will make her a better person and quite possibly, a better mother. The fact that you dont have a job is just a bad spot in the whole situation. All you need to do is have a little more faith in yourself. You've helped your mom, now help yourself. Get back on your feet and show your daughter what a great person is made of.

Reading this the blame as you put it goes back to your mother...You are not your mother, nor do you have to do it the same way she did...Also if you had a job and were set why didn't you move your mother in with you? Another thing if your mother is getting medical/medicare why don't you get In Home Supportive Services to help you, they will even pay you to take care of your mother and give you medical insurance or send someone to her home to do whatever....If your mom cant work, also try for SSI, call Social Security and they will mail you the forms. You need to get control of YOUR life and stop blaming people for choices YOU made. Everything that has happen to you, you made the decisions, you were not forced, you made the move and your not setting a good example for your kid. Monday morning get on the phone, make some calls, get your life back.....

College just happened somehow????

No, that's not true. You are intelligent and hard-working. You have a college degree and are far ahead of many others because of that. You also have a good heart and appreciate that you have only one mother. Plus, you are a mother: you know so much more than many young women because you have had this experience. All of this will look great on a resume.

Once you get past all of this current stress, you will find yourself landing a job quite soon, I am sure. Take care of yourself, too.

You don't need a shrink. You will be fine. It's temporary.

Hon, you are someone special. Not everyone would stop everything to take care of their mother, most people would hire a nurse or put her in a nursing home. If you just need someone to talk to I am here, feel free to write me. There is a lot of help out there that is free or a very low cost depending on your income. Go to Social Services and get help. I know you want a different life for you and your child, but sometimes people do need a little help. When you are back on your feet you can always get away from social services. Good Luck

Do not think of anything but the present.
Make a list for tomorrow, or Monday.

Stop the "poor me" stuff.
That will get you nowhere,
besides making people think
you are feeling sorry for yourself.

The most important thing in your life
right now and for a while is your child.
Do not forget that!
Be a kind and loving mother.

Get a job. Take a job that will
enable you to afford a rent payment
and pay your bills. It doesn't have
to have anything to do with your
degree. Just get a JOB.
.
Then you will "find yourself" and
also be setting a good example for
your child.

gee wiz, i hope your mother doesn't hear you say these things. you will break her heart! it almost sounds like you blame your mother for becoming sick and needing you.how quilty you must be making her feel right now. get over your insecurities, make your mother better and get on with your life.it will get better. you are not the only person who has ever scrapped the bottom of the barrel!you worked for that education, you know you deserve it. But an education and a diploma doesn't promise a better future unless you believe in yourself.you are probably stuck at home all day caring for a sick person with no contact with the world. sounds like depression. educate yourself on the symptoms.meet people in the neighborhood, arrange for a friend that you meet to care for your mother for a couple hours so you can get out.dont forget to take care of yourself too! hey, no money, dont be too proud to get help from the gov. for a while. some of the best of us have been on food stamps for a while.

i wont give you my pity if thats what you want but if this is sincere then you should be SO proud that you made it through college, and you need to pursue the career that makes you happiest. Because anything that makes you unhappy isnt worth it. To have endured so much pain in your life and to make it more painful is B.S. you have one life live it to your standards. And darlin', best of luck and my prayers. Remember that you can be more than your mother. She DOES NOT define you! It will be hard but dont give up, there are people all over like you that wont so you dont! you got it? NEVER GIVE UP Change your life so your childs can be better than yours. If not for yourself then for your child.

Well for one don't believe the lies you've told yourself and please stop this poor me pitty party. I hate to sound so rash but come on. What you're doing for your child and your mother prooves you're worth something and that you have a lot of love even in lifes toughest situations. If a real man who loves you sees that then you just won girl. Good luck in life and please get off of the poor me syndrome. I personally think you're going to be fine after this pitty party ends. Also if you cannot pay for a shrink go talk with a pastor of a good church you trust and get some prayer. I'll say a prayer for you and good luck.

it sounds like you have already done better if you ask me just because you love your mom enough to come back and help her when she is sick dosent make you less of a person, sounds like you dont think you deserve better than your mom, but you do every struggle can only make you stronger, just know that there is a reason for everything, and soon it will be clear what that reason is, just be patient. Enjoy the fact that you have your mom and she is doing better that job will be ther you just have to look for it. Good luck
